INDIANAPOLIS – Several offensive linemen, including Baylor guard Cyril Richardson, listed Pittsburgh’s Aaron Donald as the toughest defensive tackle they faced at the Senior Bowl.

That’s good news for Cowboys fans. Donald has been linked to the team in several mock drafts.

Dallas owns the 16th overall pick. With Jason Hatcher likely to be lost to free agency, the Cowboys are in need of a tackle to anchor Rod Marinelli’s 4-3 defense.

“He’s a hell of a player, honestly,” Richardson said of Donald. “Good feet, good hands and a great technician.”

Said Utah center Tyler Larsen, “He’s a great DT. He has that strength and quickness off the ball. By far, he was the best I faced.”

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett was careful not to tip his hand, but he indicated the club is giving serious consideration to selecting a defensive lineman in the first round.

“Well, it’s a big part of playing the 4-3 defense,” Garrett said. “We’re going to evaluate the players we have, the players who are available to us based on their health and make the necessary decisions. We have to get better on defense. There’s no question about that. I think everyone understands that when you play a 4-3 style of defense it starts up front.
