LANDOVER, Md. – Fox analysts Terry Bradshaw and Jimmy Johnson took turns lambasting the Cowboys and coach Jason Garrett during the network’s NFL pre-game show Sunday.
Bradshaw, the Hall of Fame quarterback who guided the Steelers to four Super Bowl wins during the 1970s, said Garrett is “no head coach” and “never should have been hired in the first place.”
“He’s just a yes man for Jerry (Jones),” Bradshaw said.
Johnson, who coached the Cowboys to two Super Bowl wins in the 1990s, also took shots at Garrett for his coaching in last week’s 37-36 loss to Green Bay. The Packers rallied from a 23-point third-quarter deficit to down the Cowboys in Arlington.
“Let’s take a look at who is responsible for this debacle: (offensive coordinator Bill) Callahan, (quarterback Tony) Romo, receivers not running the routes, Jason Garrett,” Johnson said. “If a player leaves the field early, who is he responsible to, who does he answer to, where is the fear? To have a championship team you have one voice, one leader, and that’s the head coach.
“Now, I love the Cowboys, but I don’t like the way this team is structured.”
Garrett is 23-23 as a full-time head coach with Dallas. He was 5-3 on an interim basis after Jones fired Wade Phillips midway through the 2010 season. Dallas has yet to reach the playoffs under Garrett.
