INDIANAPOLIS – Cowboys coach Jason Garrett sounded less than eager to face the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in the 2014 season opener.
Dallas is scheduled to play at Seattle next season. Ever since the Seahawks destroyed Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, there’s been speculation about who they will open against. A matchup with the Cowboys would draw huge ratings, but the biggest rivalry in the NFL right now is Seattle and San Francisco.
“I have no say in that,” Garrett said. “They’re certainly a great football team and I think what they did this past year was really, really impressive. Anybody who’s played against them knows how good a team they’ve had over the last few years and they’ve played great down the stretch of the playoffs and really, really impressive in the Super Bowl. Obviously that was a great football team they were going against, an offensive football team that broke all the records in the NFL, and they just did a great job shutting them down and they’re a worthy champion, there’s no question about that.”
Garrett is 0-1 against the Seahawks, losing 27-7 early in Week 2 of the 2012 season.
