IRVING – Despite all the injuries, a middling record at the halfway point and his team being 0-4 against clubs with winning records, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is optimistic about the second half of the season while admitting he was “very disappointed” with the start.

The Cowboys’ remaining opponents are a combined 26-32. Only three of them: New Orleans, Chicago and Green Bay sport winning records.

“This thing is going to come down to the end, and you could have a situation like Baltimore (winning the Super Bowl) last year,” Jones told Dallas’ KRLD-FM on Tuesday. “They weren’t playing very well. We missed beating them by a 6-inch field goal…and they end up in the world championship. We’re continuing to have injuries, but we’ve just got to keep dealing with what we’re dealing with.

“I want to be very positive, though. We’re sitting here with probably as good a chance to be where we want to be as we did when we started the season.”
