The Dallas Cowboys on Sunday completed their second trade in as many days, shipping defensive lineman Sean Lissemore to the San Diego Chargers in exchange for a 2015 seventh-round draft pick, ESPNDallas.com reported.
On Saturday night, the Cowboys acquired linebacker/special teams ace Edgar Jones in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Cowboys gave Lissemore a three-year, $6 million contract extension in September 2012, but his play dipped last season after he suffered a high ankle sprain at midseason.
A seventh-round pick in 2010, Lissemore also fell out of favor in Dallas because he’s not a good fit for Monte Kiffin’s new 4-3 scheme. In San Diego, he will return to the 3-4 scheme he played in his first three seasons.
Dealing Lissemore leaves the Cowboys with an opening on their 53-man roster, which could be filled Sunday.
The Cowboys will face San Diego in Week 4.
