INDIANAPOLIS – Stephen Jones defended his father, saying Jerry Jones isn’t the sole voice in the Cowboys draft room.
The biggest misconception is that the elder Jones “sits up there and out of the clear blue just grabs a guy and says we’re going to take him,” the younger Jones said.
“We spend millions of dollars in our scouting department and we spend a lot of money on our coaches and everybody has tremendous input,” he said. “I think it’s a good system.”
Well, not really. Year after year, Dallas has more misses than home runs on draft day, and the buck stops at Jerry Jones’ desk.
