Was Madieu the lone bright spot on a defensive secondary that was one of the worst in the NFL over the last couple years?

He's a pretty good player and still young. Not sure if he's worth that much money though. I thought he could've been an option for us had we decided not to bring Hamlin back.

A solid signing for the Vikes, though I'm not sure I would've given him that much money.

Yup but I do have concerns with his injury history but he is a good player when he is healthy but it seems that the Vikings just like to sign injuried players and draft injuried players for some reason

You guys still have a lot of work to do in that secondary.

Surprised that they let him walk. They need all the help they can get on D.

Big time but we have more work in the defensive end positions (Eramus James had surgery and Udeze has Luekimia) :(

If signing Hamlin requires that much, I sure hope we just leave him franchised and hope that Patrick Watkins developes into starter material.

If the Vikes pull all of those moves off, they will have done very well for themselves in FA. James and Udeze looked so promising when they drafted them. Smith makes a lot of sense for them as does Berrian.

The middle of their D-line is solid. If they can nab a WR and CB in the draft they could very well have the best off-season of any team in the league (assuming of course the aforementioned deals get done).
