Not really, but we probably should root for the Saints just because we don't want the NFC North adding teams to the playoff picture to complicate it.

The Saints/Bears game tonight, any effect on the Cowboys playoff hopes?

Root for the Saints, there is a scenario that if the Bears end up with a 10-6 record along with the Commanders, Bucs, Fakcons and Cowboys we would be out of the playoffs.
The Saints have a terrible conference record so they are not a problem for us.

Right.

If we lose and the Bears win they would be in front of us because they had the better Conference record. Not so with the Saints. They'd still be trailing us.

So Go Saints... ;-)

The Bears won't be in front of us if they win, and they can't finish with a better conference record than us if we finish at least 10-6. They already have five NFC losses. We have four.

The reason we want the Saints to win is to keep Chicago from possibly creating a three-way tiebreaker with us and Tampa Bay for the sixth seed, which would make our head-to-head win over Tampa Bay meaningless and keep us out of the playoffs.

But even if the Bears win tonight, it's highly unlikely that all of the things that have to happen to create that situation will end up happening (we beat Baltimore but lose to either the Giants or Eagles to finish 10-6 AND Washington wins out AND Minnesota wins at least two out of three AND Chicago wins out AND Carolina wins at least one more AND Tampa Bay loses to Atlanta and splits its final two games AND Atlanta loses at least one of its last two games.)
