Doug Miller, of NewOrleansSaints.com, reports the New Orleans Saints have signed unrestricted free-agent QB Matt Baker (Cowboys). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

If your theory is correct, then we should expect Payton(not Peyton) to phone Lousaka Polite as soon as we release him(for the 3rd time, at least).
Parcells always said Lousaka was our smartest guy.
I tend to doubt your theory because of the time of the signing. Baker was released 2 weeks ago, but the Saints didn't sign Baker until they'd seen Brees, Jamie Martin, Jason Fife, and Tyler Palko on Sunday. After Sunday's game, confidence in 1 or more of those guys may have decreased.
