Same here. As the game started, I found myself rooting for them. The Saints love is just too sickening to take.

Heartley was making kicks with ease in the playoffs last year...looks like the magic's worn off! Kickers are so inconsistent. There's about 3-4 good ones in the league and the rest are all up and down. Nick Folk will probably be a Pro Bowler again this year :laugh2:

Is it just me or has the level of quality in terms of kickers really decreased over the last few years? Just guessing but maybe more and more teams are going on the cheap with kickers like J.J. did.

Jerry brought in an expensive kicker, a veteran, who retired as the most accurate kicker in NFL history... Mike Vanderjagt. That didn't work. Then we turned it over to a FA kicker we signed midseason.

Then we drafted a kicker and tried to groom him. Folk.

Then we drafted ANOTHER kicker and carried two.

Then we cut ties with Folk and signed another kicker, carrying two.

Now we turned it over to 1; a draft pick.

Jerry spent money; Jerry spent picks.

That's hardly being cheap.

Favre is playing pretty well. The Sydney Rice loss is huge. They have absolutely no vertical passing game without him. They are completely dependant on the 10-14 play drive, because they can't pick up yardage in big chunks.

In the NFL, it usually takes 2-4 regular season games for the offenses to catch up with the defenses. Anyway, that's pretty much been my experience.

I thought it was a good game.
