Hmm are we freeing up more cap with the restructures to T. Crawford and T.Smith? If so are we rolling this or are we expecting to actually sign a big free agent?

I would sign Travis and Zack first again in not a GM or a football expert but they need to be taken care of now I have a feeling that the,Oline will bounce back huge this year

Might as well wait a year on Martin. He still has two years left on a reasonable deal. I do expect Fred to be extended this offseason though.

They will pick up the 5th year option on both players as well. There is no rush on either guy.

About 14.5 million under as of right now without any restructuring . Smith and Crawford puts us 26 million under. That's some serious space !

Didn't we also get about $3.5 million in carry over cap from 2015 season. This number seems a bit low.
But then again 10 different people will have 10 different numbers.
Just asking, I don't have any idea. But seems we we're supposedly about 9 to 10 ill ion under, then another 3.5 then this 12. Shouldn't we be about $25 million under.

Very rare to sign a guy who is still under his rookie contract. Usually not a smart move since you take a low paid player and make him a high paid player when you don't have to

Ok so we don't extend him with 2 years left I see your point. Question could they and or in your opinion would it be a good idea to try to extend Zack with 1 year left on his rookie deal?

The writings on the wall. Only question remaining is whom it will be?

It may be a good idea in the long run but it takes away the benefit gained by the rookie cap and that lots of money
Not arguing we should or shouldn

they could and they might but depends on what they do with Fred
In general we use the 5th year option then sign a guy. Since him and Fred and Martin are in desperate years you also have a reasonable franchise tag to use
Would I ? If I did with Fred I would with Martin. Not sure you do them differently
I would if I could get a deal like we did with scandrick where the team got a decent deal so I would look at it for sure but Fred first because I don't think you want to create any annamosity there
The team probably has a good idea of the future cap. Big rises in the cap means higher salaries so that's a factor. You may save long term by signing early

And that's before cutting Carr and Church, which would save another 13 million. Shoot that's before missing with dez or romo also.

If there is talk with any doubt upon Tony Romo's future, and the gaining of a highly drafted quarterback of the future, then one shouldn't touch Romo's contract as well.

The subtraction of his 20m salary will be a much bigger plus than the potential 9m in dead money.

Romo's contract is accounted for either way.

Him being gone will hurt 10x more than any cap hit.
