Sam and Damone

This is more of a question than any statement - but didn't the last few d-coordinators determine these guys were not good?

And now they are both starting or playing a lot.

I dont see either of them doing anything great. If we're going to suck I'd prefer ppl that will be with us at least contract-wise like Marist and kneeland taking more snaps, unless they really do suck more. Experience will at least give them a a shot?

You film watchers have any intelligent feedback other than my couch potato eyes?
Clark is terrible - clueless play recognition

I hear he’s a good dude but we need good players

To be honest, I thought Sam Williams looked better two years ago before he got hurt. Perhaps having Micah opposite him on the DL helped him a bit.

Watching William no h is trying to bull rush every play. He has no speed or pass rush moves. His advantage was his speed before. Who is coaching him?

They had flashes like once every few games

Micah covered ALOT of issues…..and made others shine kinda like Dorance Armstrong not being as good as he was here
Micah was very good, but he would be crap in whatever the defense is we are running this year.

Btw, Super Micah and the 2023 defense gave up 48 at home to the Packers. Micah chipped in 2 tackles and 1 QB hit in that home playoff beat down of the Boys.

I missed the game yesterday, but whatever lowlights I saw, 54 was standing around looking lost

Sam "I am not great" and "Da Done in Dallas" are bridges. Understand this, the off-season is over, all the hype pieces are over and done. Now we are living in reality. Sam isn't awful. But he's kinda low IQ on the field. God Bless him. I do think he tries but he's just not more than a jag. Damone Clark isn't good at linebacker. He's below average because he lacks instincts and toughness.

Shhhh. Not so loud. Those are facts , some don't like those things. But but but Micah would make us better. Ahh... Nope he wouldn't and against good teams, he was actually awful. That's another fact.

Williams has had health and consistency issues. Talent was never in question. Clark, not so much. Moderate expectations have led to subpar results. They kept him around because he has starting experience and is still on his rookie contract. Guess they figured Eberflus could get something out of him.

I fully expect Sam Williams to get an offer from Wash next spring .
The best thing for Williams may be to get the hell out of Dallas.

It's is a common thread among ex-players that the culture of Dallas and the building is they don't focus on football, and common everyday occurences in the buiding are not common elsewhere in the league.

It is not common among the rest of the league that well heeled fans get to walk around the facility while players are in session or working out.

If he is serious about getting his football career off the ground, then he may need to do it in a place where it doesn't cause him distractions.

No. With "The last coordinator" Sam Williams ws expected to be as a big part of our defense going into last year and then he was injured and that was WITH Micah at the top of the depth chart. I don't think anyone expected him to be a star, but always was expected to be a part of our rotation.

Damone Clark has zero football instincts. Bites hard on play action, takes horrible angles in pursuit, and cannot cover even a little. He's big, fast, and tough but just cannot play.

Williams has been a disappointment. He was a great pass rusher at Ole Miss and was considered a top prospect. His off-field concerns dropped him to the second round, but if he was the player he was in the SEC we wouldn't be missing Micah as much.

I saw Liufau on a rare blitz leave his area the RB went right to where he vacated for a chunk play . The entire defense is horrible

I noticed him yesterday, in a bad way. Looks like he's shying from contact and dives and misses tackles. He's the worst middle linebacker I've seen here in a long time. Meanwhile Shamar James is inactive every week.

Shemar James Liufau and Toia need reps at the expense of vets

From the first week he popped out to me. He arm tackles and when hes in coverage he just runs next to the reciver. Hes really bad.
