Sam Shields, "It was a catch"

“I did look back and I seen him reaching and I guess that’s when he didn’t control the ball as he was doing that,” Shields said.
You also stuck your leg up and tripped him as you were looking back.

What Sam Shields says is irrelevant. The catch was ruled a non-catch. It's time for the Cowboys faithful to stop punishing themselves and move on.

When the opposing CB says it was a catch it's kind of hard to ignore it.

It was his typical ridiculous catch but at such a critical moment in a playoff game.

So not only can he make those types of plays, he can make them in the biggest moments too.

There's no telling what else he would have done had the call stood.

Dez has always been clutch. He is money in big moments

Can you imagine kids playing football, in their school yards/back yards, after catching the ball and getting 3 feet down saying no catch because you didn't make a football move?
Only in the NFL.

This is what Ryan Clark said. Almost everyone considered it a catch. However, the rules as presently applied say it's a non-catch. But it was nice of Sam Shield to say what he did. He didn't have to.

Sam Shields on Dez Bryant: "It was a catch. I was in great coverage...he made a helluva catch" http://t.co/kfoufwxGqe http://t.co/28nP4EOYLy

I made an earlier thread saying basically this . It was deleted but the thread was "he made the play he beat his man ".

Bottom line he beasted. Everything about what he did was awesome footballing

So we will be playing the Seahawks . . .no, wait . . . so we can go back in time in the DeLorean . . . no, wait . . . what is the point of all this second-guessing and teef nashing?

As great a catch as it was, it was an even better throw
There was no margin for error on that throw

None

Actually, we know it was a catch. It's nice to hear the CB in coverage say it, too. That's pretty stand-up of him.

Is he a free agent?
Yes, he is a free agent.

I could see the Cowboys consider him as a replacement for Carr but only on a 1 or 2 year contract because IIRC he is 31.

xwalker, I think you are mixing up Sam Shields with Tramon Williams.

Shields signed this past off-season for like $10m a year. Tramon Williams is the one I believe is a FA.

Aah yes, thanks!

Sam Shields is tremendously classy. You don't see that too often in the NFL, especially in recent weeks.

Calling it a catch isn't going to make it a catch. Get over it!

What makes you think I'm not over it? If you don't like that others haven't gotten over it, why enter a thread where it's being discussed? There are plenty of other threads on other topics. Again, you telling others to get over it has no impact on them getting over it.

I'm happy for you if you are over it. You're welcome. I'll keep helping the others.
