If this has been discussed previously....Apologies.
Do any of you think Flapp shoulda been flagged for pile driving Bledsoe to the ground? Is this part of the game of football for you? I can't say 100% that I agree with the penalty. I loved that it happened, but can't decide whether it was a legitimate penalty.

The penalty, was because he picked him up to throw him down, instead of just tackling him. On the one hand, I can see why the refs through the flag, on the other, Bledsoe is a big guy, and not that easy to take straight down.....

I think if I saw it happen to any QB, I would say it should be flagged.

There inlies my struggle. He tried to bring him down, couldn't, and had to lift him off his feet. So......did the refs wait too long for the whistle? Was Flapp "semi-induced"?

You may not like the rule, but there is no doubt that what Sapp did was a penalty. He deliberately picked Bledsoe up and slammed him down on his shoulder. If he hadn't lifted Drew off his feet first, it would not have been a penalty.

When Siragousa slammed Gannon onto his shoulder and knocked him out of the game a few years back, the owners moved quickly to put in a rule to protect their high dollar QB's. Just like the rule against hitting a QB in the head. The refs will call it every time.

Should definitely have been flagged. You can't lift up a guy and slam him to the ground like that. You could kill a guy if you slammed him down on his neck.

Nope, but it is against the rules because the Quarterback position is one that is being very protected now days.

Great play Warren Sapp. He just made the Right play in the Wrong Era.

The hit Sapp but on Drew was nothing like the one that Willie mcginest put on drew in a game in Buffalo in Drews first year in buff.

1 - I hate Sapp and always have.
2 - That has nothing to do with the fact that it was a good call. It is immaterial Drew's size - it's the rule.
3 - Nothing better than hearing Moose own Goose in their little argument, with Moose finally saying "Hey - you're just upset because that penalty was put into place because of you."
