Could Cowher be a Cowboy?

Any number of NFL teams could take a run at Bill Cowher. It wouldn't surprise anyone if Cowboys owner Jerry Jones fired Wade Phillips after just one season to make a pitch for him. Patience is running thin with Giants coach Tom Coughlin. The same is true with the Buccaneers' Jon Gruden. But the Panthers, Commanders and Browns probably make the most sense.

it would surprise me. we've got wade and then garrett "in training". i also don't see the HUGE need to go after a coach that won 1 superbowl in *how* many years again?

Not sure Jerry would fire a successful WP to hire BC. But we may not be successful or successful enough. Not winning a playoff game might do it. If Jerry wants to do it I doubt he'll let money or guilt get in his way. I'd hate to win 12-14 games and get fired. Right Marty??

Jerry is all about selling tickets. He knew that hiring Bill Parcells would get a stadium built in Arlington. Cowher will put people in the seats, not Phillips. I dont think it would be the right move, but it wouldnt surprise me if Jerry hired Cowher next year.

....You might be mislead into believing that Jerry's another quick-triggered George Steinbrenner, but he is not. Wade willl get Jerry's patience and loyalty for a minimum of three years. Cowher is not his kind of guy, and has no background affiliations with Jerry.

Wade (and Bum) make Jerry comfortable and it'll take a lot of failure to shake that comfort.

you may be right. Jerry was comfortable hiring Campo too. Let's just hope Wade doesn't bring us three 5-11 seasons before Jerry realizes he made a mistake.

The DALLAS COWBOYS got the stadium built. There will be people in the seats even if YOU were the coach because these are the DALLAS COWBOYS we are talking about. Or maybe you're a little young to know what those two words mean?

And then only with some major help from the zebras. Come to think of it, the squealers got a lot help in winning their first four SBs too. Especially those against Dallas.

These are the Cowboys, not the Texans. Dave Campos teams had butts in the seats.

I don't want it to happen and I hope that it won't... but Jerrah could do it. If we have a crappy season or even a mediocre one Wade could end up fired. That sounds so ridiculous for me to say that but it very true.

Remember, Jerrah was gunning for Cowher and wanted him to be the coach before he started his lengthy search for the successor to BP. Anything can happen with this team.

Cowher isn't really qualified IMHO; he doesn't specialize in anything and really wasn't impressive to me his entire coaching career.

Besides, Wisenhunt and Tomlin were the ones that made that team great these past few seasons, not Cowher.

I just find it funny how maligned this guy would have been had he choked away another big game like his AFC championship games... I honestly don't think we would even be looking at Cowher to be the coach of this team. Conjecture, of course.

Hello! Jason Garrett. Wade is going to do very well in Dallas. Don't forget Brian Stewart and Tony Sporano. Wade has a very talented staff. We will never need "the chin". Parcells has laid the foundation for many years of winning.

Cower is going to want total control where ever he ends up. He really abused his quarterback last year. He played him hurt all year and took years off his career. He knew that he was leaving, and he didn't seem to care about s quarterback's health. Cower's success in Pittsburgh speaks for itself; however, his one Super Bowl title was a fluke. He is going to command outragous money.

Just another stupid anti-Cowboy rumor!

The Cowboys winning will but rear ends in seats regardless of the HC.

This was started by a Steelers beat writer in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, it was mention that Cleveland is the most likely place with Carolina next, followed by other jobs on the Hot Seat like the NYG, Washington and Dallas.

I think if Dallas fails to win a playoff game, Cowher may get a call?
