He has shown zero to make me believe he wants to stick his nose in the pile.
I thought the same until this year's preseason. He made a few VERY nice tackles against San Francisco, including one on Frank Gore in the open field... the kind of plays where, right after the play was made, I instantly thought "oh that had to be Newman or Scandrick" and was pleasantly shocked to see it was actually Jenkins.

that was a nice open field tackle on a very difficult guy to bring down.

I want to see him seek contact and go after backs when they come around the corner.

I am down on jenkins. He looks lazy at times, he seems to have a prima donna attitude and He has shown zero to make me believe he wants to stick his nose in the pile.

He's seriously getting worse every game. After that Titans game where Britt torched him twice and let Gage behind him just before the half, I thought "okay good, he's going to learn from this. It's preseason".

Low and behold he does it AGAIN against the Bucs:rolleyes:. Unbelievable. He just has these mental lapses that you can't have as a corner.

Everybody loves the underdog. Unless he has like 2 int's Sunday night, he's not starting the rest of the year. smh

And even then I'm quite sure he wont start the rest of the season.

Its going to be (as Tim Hardaway) "very interesting" to see what happens on this board if Scand does not play all that well.

I think that Scand is a solid corner but Jenkins has the potential to be the type who'll make some mistakes but youll live with them because he'll also create to's. Haven't seen that in Scand. He Is always making solid tackles but I don't recall any real good plays to break up a pass or near picks. This is his first season as a starter. Well it is for both. As his career progresses you'll see teams start to kind of shy away from Jenkins just because of the potential to's.

There's a reason why they were awarded split time. Let's see... hmmm.. Would I rather have the corner that has mental lapses every game, doesn't tackle consistently, and relies on his athleticism to play is position versus actual "technique" (which will help him through the times when he plays the better WRs in the league)? orrrrr would I rather have the CB that just plays a solid all around game ala TNew? I'll take the solid all around game for $5000 Alex.

I hope Jenkins performs better and wins the starting job permanently just to piss off the haters. ;)

Seriously though, I could care less who starts.

I don't thing anyone is "hating" om Jenkins Count. Rather, I believe they (incl myself) just think there's no drop off in talent going from Jenkins to Scandrick while Scandrick's game appears to be more polished and NFL ready. A CB that relies on his pure athleticism to get him out of sticky situations is going to get burned often.. That's not saying Jenkins can't be a very solid CB. I just want to see what OScan brings to the table in a pressure cooker type situation which we will appear to have Sunday night. ;) They'll both get plenty of PT Sunday night. I'm particularly interested in seeing how OScan handles Manningham who appears to be a very talented young up & coming WR.

Really? Jenkins is owed an apology. :laugh2:

I do love Jenkins, but I'm not biased in either direction. But if Scandrick plays a good game it doesn't mean he should stay the starter like some are suggesting. They are both great players and deserve a whole season to showcase themselves (that is if one of them isn't playing flat out terrible).

If Scandrick plays a bad game, it'll be because it's not his fault, but if Jenkins plays a bad game, it's because of his psyche and mentality and some other assumptions everyone makes with little to no proof behind it.

 Jenkins had all last year to acquit himself and he still has yet to do so mr funny man. Here's your exhibit A from last year. Enjoy.

Gawd.. I love modern technology. Loafers can no longer loaf because there's a camera hitting every angle! Mad because I have posted this video yet again? Get over it. Don't click play. It's your constitutional right. ;) For the record, I see both eventually manning the corners for our Boys. Both are very talented but I happen to like OScan better. Shoot me.

Neither does one play.

Never said it did... However, in terms of whether or not it increased or decreased my opinion of his work ethic vs his god given ability, I will let you answer that question.
