Saving a grand total of 1.4 million while accumulating 3 million in dead money. Another great move by the Dallas Cowboys.

Seriously we are worse than the Browns when in comes to Pro personnel. I imagine purgatory just like being a cowboys fan for the past 20 years.

Yeah what a leader. All those playoff INTs. Defensive snap count has been 60%, 58%, 0% the last 3 years. Starters are usually in the 85%+ range. JJ Wilcox in his last season was 53%. How exactly is he the leader for years as you like to say?

Why don't you try get your figures correct? Fact is Scandrick has had a limited role since 2014. Had a inflated opinion of himself and his skills since day 1. 11 seasons...8 INTs. PLEASE!!!

Still waiting for these bad attitude links.

The team waited too long, and gave Scandrick the upper hand. He should have been on the bus out of town last year.

I wouldn't release him now, keep through the summer in case we have injuries or another team does that might bring us some trade value. Who would you release him for on the 93 man pre-season roster. This way you have a chance of getting something vs. no chance of getting something.

They should be able to trade him, even tho not playing towards the end of the season could hurt his value.

He's probably viewed by other teams as someone likely to get released anyway, so they likely would wait and try to sign him then rather than trade away something of value.

Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick has requested his release from the team, according to a source. Scandrick hopes to get into the free-agent market when it opens Wednesday. Cowboys seem to have moved on at corner with Chidobe Awuzie, Jourdan Lewis, Xavier Woods and moving Byron Jones there, too.

I'm certain he thinks he can make more than his 3M salary as a fred agent.

He screwed himself over in multiple contract negotiations over the years because he wanted the money sooner. He even basically ask for a paycut long term in exchange for upfront money at one point.

he had 8 interceptions In career was a average player on a average team the only reason he stuck around is because they didn't have any one any better

Subpar late round draft pick that climbed his way into a starting position for the Cowboys and at one point in time, respectable player inthe league, only to reliquished back to subpar once he got with his Attention Starved girlfriend. If we're totally being honest here, OScan hasn't been the same since Draya.

Some fans want to hold on to him as an insurance policy, but I don't want players around the lockerroom who doesn't want to be here. Cut his *** and you live and learn from mistakes.

Scandy wants to be on the market before Wed., and everybody knows Stephen can't trade him. Why not just release Scandy an move on with Woods, AB, n Duke?

DAL will be fine, but will they do #32 a solid?

Yes, he is under contract, but who is willing to give anything after another year of bad to mediocre play?

A year ago the Cowboys were coming off a strong 2016 season and hoped for more in 2017, so it wouldn't have made sense to start dumping veterans, especially at a position where there wasn't going to be much of a veteran presence.
