Player experiments tend to happen in the offseason.

I think Scandrick is moving to safety, right now, because of our lack options on the current roster.

If we sign a safety in FA or draft one or two, my guess is Scandrick will move back to CB, but if by chance, he shows a lot of moxie at the safety position, it can only help us be a better team.

I'm not saying that Scandrick isn't a good young player because he is. I'm not saying he doesn't have potential because he does...

But it's weird to me that people can say that Scandrick has potential to be one of the best corners, when Mike Jenkins has every bit as much talent and potential.

This is still a case of Dallas doing what is necessary to get their best players on the field. In this case, Scandrick's play and versatility is going to allow them to do more things and matchup better.

He is still playing CB in the slot, but he is also playing FS. That way he is on the field at all times. If it doesn't work we won't keep him there, but it is a good idea to try it out.

He reminds me of a young Terrence Newman.

He is such an up and comer and I hate to see a guy like that moved to safety just because we drafted Jenkins in the 1st round.

Jenkins can play. Im certain of that.

But we did get extremely fortunate with Scandrick and just because Jenkins was our #1 pick doesn't mean we should make Scandrick change positions.

Gosh this team has sooooo many holes to fill.

Mel Renfro played FS his first five years in the nfl and then moved to cornerback. Was Tom Landry an idiot for doing that with a HOFamer?

People need to understand the game is changing also. The position now calls for more of a CB than a S position. Did anyone listen to Little Bill and even Big Bill say that the position has evolved into more a CB than S.

Believe Little Bill called it a Hybrid CB.

Mistake moving him, NO, not getting someone who can cover well there would be the big mistake.

I hardly think this is the same thing nor is the league the same.

Scandrick showed a lot of promise at the CB position last year I don't think moving him to FS wil be smart then again he will be able to cover for Jenkins mistakes and he will have dumb amounts of range.

Mel Renfro was one of the best ever, Landry needed help at safety so he put him there. Thats what the current club is doing with Scandrick.

I thought Mel was drafted as a Safety and got moved to CB because of his speed.... at least the article that I saw the other day that's what it said.

Scandrick is to small to play FS. At 192lbs, he will be road kill trying to stop power running backs.

I agree.

Basically the STAR position means we're starting 3 CB and 1 S instead of 2 of each. He'll be a free roaming FS more or less.

It's basically what Baltimore does with Ed Reed....
They let him run wild.

That's why we have an SS....
FS is more of a coverage safety anyway. Although he needs to gain around 8-15lbs.

We're going to need another corner and safety in the draft regardless and 1 of either should be taken with 1 of our first 2 picks because you can get a real good 1 arund then.

Orlando will be successful if he can put on another 5-8 lbs of muscle and not lose his speed. The kids got attitude when he tackles and although he looks slim he is 22 and will build more mass.

So I'm fine with Orlando playing the position but Jerry and his hurting marketing need to calm down. The "Star" position? Come on, this is getting corney. This is a football team, not a primadonna pop group. The kid has to knock peoples helmets off and demand respect across the field and he has to go about it with Jerry's daughter creating woosey marketing names?
