Yet the starters got lucky the last time.

Hmmm...
Luck and superior talent favors the Cowboys. Commanders fans are depending on Joe Gibbs to bail them out of an 8-8 season.

I like our chances.

these playoffs scare me. before I start, let me say that i have been a huge Boys fan since 1981, suffered thru the 1-15 seasons, 5-11 seasons, live in DC where I HATE the skins. But heres why:

As much as I like the boys to beat the skins on Sunday, I dont see it happening. I can see us losing like 24-17. Thank god for the Bears. I did not see us winning had the bears lost. Losing jason campbell was the best thing for those skins. lucky *******s.

skins will be the final seed. i can see them winning a close game in Seattle. the media will love it and play up the sean taylor angle.

skins will then go to dallas. this matchup scares me. We were lucky to win that close one in November when Campbell threw that pick to Newman. An experienced Todd Collins will not throw that pick. What if Romo's thumb is hurt? what if he's rusty from the layoff? Will TO be ready? also, who knows about Wade phillips. Hes been a great coach but he did choke in buffalo and denver. remember, 2 years ago Steelers beat the colts after a layoff. HFA is great but no guarantee.

Worst case scenario is skins beat us, and meet green bay in NFCCG. that would be a nightmare. like sodom vs gamorrah.

I hope I'm wrong. any thoughts?

There is NOTHING... let me REPEAT... NOTHING "SCARY" about going into the playoffs as the NUMBER ONE OVERALL SEED in your conference.

Did I mention there is NOTHING SCARY ABOUT THAT?

Laff @ deadskins fans.

Just about 4 weeks ago, they were dejected, broken, resigned to the fact their team sucked and a losing season and they win few games and now they think they are the world beaters. What a bunch of idiots :lmao2:

I'll be honest and say I didn't expect Collins to do this well. I do think we win next week and beat Seattle...however I also think that Dallas will have the advantage in emotional intensity being the number 1 seed when we go to their place. Not that a victory will be impossible, but I would be very surprised.

In any case, just making the playoffs after the injuries and adversity from this season would say alot about the team
This post I agree with, especially the last line. It sure would.

See, and I think you got lucky to even be that close at the end. Perspective.

This team has as much if not more heart than any of the SB teams.
Heart won't always win games, but it keeps you respectable.

I expect a good game regardless of who is playing on either team.

I agree. It is about perspective. Hopefully the Commanders will have the chance to provide some clarity soon, win or lose.

Romo, finishing the day completing 22 of 32 passes for 293 yards and four scores for a 124.1 quarterback rating. Owens, who finished the day with eight grabs for 173 yards and 4TDs.

That's some luck........

Here is to an injury-free, hard played football game.

I am just thankful that TO is not playing since he had our number last time.

I'd like to think we are an improved team from that game, but we will see!

I'm scared of that too. You make some very valid points about how the Cowboys season will go.
I'm also scared that Santa will miss my house tonight too. :laugh2:

What makes you (and others) so sure ?
umm... maybe because Washington would be playing against Matt Hasselbeck and not Tavaris Jackson..? Who knows?

Normally, I would trust you, but I have this uneasy fear of being punked, so...

This is what annoys me about 'Skins fans.

Gibbs' teams always seem to play pretty good in December. This is a pretty consistent pattern with his teams, i.e. it's nothing new. Maybe he has the midas touch in this month. But, due to it being a common pattern that really hasn't resulted in a huge amount of playoff victories and SBs (two in strike years), that doesn't prevent most 'Skins fans from thinking they are world beaters when they go on a bit of a winning streak during this time.
You should have heard what Vikings fans were saying before the game on Sunday. Everyone thinks they're world beaters when they're winning.

And what you say about Gibbs is a very poor argument. He's 4th in playoff games, 3rd in playoff victories, 7th in playoff win% (counting coaches ahead of him that only coached a few playoff games) and only Noll has more SB rings. (yes, two from strike years)

How many more playoff victories and SBs could he have?
