Scattershooting my thoughts

Nod to Blackie Sherrod.

Feels like whether Dak plays or not, Dallas will have to game plan to run the ball heavily this week unless his status has truly been a smokescreen.

I am actually not that upset at Cooper Rush as a back up. He's been here a long time and knows the offense inside and out. In a 1-2 game situation he's probably a better choice than more talented but less familiar guys would be.

Dallas has a better overall roster than Minny and you'd like to get this win to keep target on top seeding; BUT 1 game on the road in a dome is probably not that deep over 18 weeks.

With the Dak focus I think we have under-reported some good news with returnees. La'el Collins is a heck of a 6th OL, Gallup is the team's best deep threat and Dallas will have more options this week on defense and special teams when elevations occur.

I think the BYE week is especially good for special teams. Gives Bones time to implement something specific to Minny.

I am not a fan at all of the weird rooting for rivals early in the season stuff I see far too much on twitter and these boards. It's just weird. Shrugging if they win and helps you, sure. Being all we need them to win a week 7 game? Insanity.

Coming off a Bye Week and having to wait and play Sunday night is just cruel and unusual punishment. The NFL needs to do better. Eyeballs will be there whenever Dallas plays stretching it out as long as possible is poor form. Sunday night or Monday night before a BYE is fine. After is just rude.

There is definitely a buzz around town and especially The Star right now. You can feel this roster has done what so few have and covered it's gaps. Belief is growing.
Under no circumstances should Rush start an NFL game. EVER.

Great post OP

The Steelers came into Dallas undefeated and on what was a 6-10 squad Garret Gilbert came close to QB ing the upset . I would have gone Gilbert over Rush this year. And DiNucci is not NFL caliber. The Pokes left a void in this position. Hope it doesn’t derail what’s been an entertaining START to a season.

Saddle up the run game and try to hammer out a win maybe with another week off # 4 plays next week .

Pretty sure the league isn't thinking "a lot of viewers is enough". They want all the viewers. That's why it's a "Primetime Game".

I love how you put your thoughts into words. It's nice to hear a positive perspective on Cooper Rush. I do agree he is capable of being a decent backup. We might just win with our running game if Dak doesn't play.

I have 6 kids and I won’t be going out at 4:30! Thats way too early. We will probably start at 6. It’s an awful night to have our game.

Btw Minny is coming off a bye too.
6 kids, Godbless buddy!

Disagree on Rush. He may play well if he does indeed play, but I’ll take a better QB any day. Plus if we signed a better backup before the season he would have been here all offseason and learned the play book just fine.

I thought Gallup wasn’t likely to be back?

Minnesota is a good team. They could have won a couple of the games they lost. Playing at their house with Dak will be tough. Without him I agree with the betting line that we should be a small underdog. But so far so good this year and we have a lot of playmakers that may step up and win us this game.

I for one prefer the Sunday night (live on the east coast and in the Caribbean right now) games over any other time slot.

I thought I saw where Broddus said Gallup is still another week away from playing.
Yea he did. Bummer there but it appears be just a 1 week delay and if this is a run oriented week not world ending.
We get Kelvin Joseph back instead. --tho likely mostly special teams.
