NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the NFL could make a decision on suspended Cowboys CB Pacman Jones as early as next week.

An internet report surfaced early Friday claiming that Jones will be reinstated. Schefter indicates that commissioner Roger Goodell hasn't formally decided yet, but says Dallas remains "optimistic" about having Pacman in 2008.

Please make it happen. This guy will add so much to an already strong defense and much more to the SP. He knows it's 1 and out for him. I reeally expect to see him shine without incident. Maybe I'm wishing on a star.

I don't see how Goodell could refuse to re-instate him. Everyone knows he has no more chances, so at least give him the chance to turn his life around. After the Patriots fiasco, Goodell would have to have very strong reasons to keep him in limbo.

I love this kind of reporting.

He "COULD" be reinstated next week.

Geez, A flying port-a-john could hit brainpaints house next week as well.

What kind of reporting is this?

He also COULD reinstate him next week as well.

Man, how much do these people make for coming up with this stuff?

yeah, i agree, goodell should reinstate pacman due to what and how he let the patriots get away with lying, cheating,

we all know how goodell said if anything new comes out of the tapes besides defensive signal stealing, i will consider taking further action,

then we all know how it was shown not only defensive signal stealing but offenisve stealing signals,

then it was revealed about a week and half ago about belichick the cheater stashing rookies and first year players that werent hurt on injured reserve and having them practice, again a violation

so what does goodell do, nothing;

im telling you guys its like mark schlereth said on nfl live, the commissioner has a double standard, (on memos he sent out to players he said, all players must be held accountable, but inside that document, he says, coaches are to be held more accountable,

then what does he do, he fines wade wilson 33% of his check that year, and suspends him 5 games, what does he do to belichick the cheater, nothing

he suspends pacman more than a year, tank johnson longer, than what he should have so tank couldnt work out with the players, get in shape

he suspends henry, other players, what does he do to patriots and belicheater, nothing

so, get ready guys, he is going to hold tight just like he has, that his moxy, he likes to be the tyrant to players, just like mark schlereth said, but to patriots and his good buddie kraft, he lets them off without hardly any punishment

oh i forgot to add, chris mortenson, other espn nfl guys said the commissioner goodell should let pacman at least workout in OTAs, but what does the goofball do, nothing,

mark my words, he is a tryant that liikes to shove his weight around on the players, but not patriots,

Hopefully, Adam Schefter hasn't joined the clueless Adam Jones reinstatement feeding frenzy. Only one person on earth has an inkling for IF and when Jones will play in the NFL again and that's Roger Goodell. Someone with a bonafide media credential should get him to comment on Jones.

However, IF Goodell were to state anything other than the date Jones would officially suit up, the interview should automatically change to a different subject. Why? Because that's what we haven't heard all along. It doesn't matter one iota to rehash meaningless speculation.

Factual reporting should be the only goal in this case. Persuade Goodell to state that he plans to reinstate Adam Jones today, tomorrow, this week, next week, next month, this fall, next year or never. Right now, that's the only important newsworthy factor surrounding this player, hands down. Anything short of facts is rubbish, pure and simple.

--Original article--

Calling the Commissioner
Look for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s decision on whether to reinstate Adam “Pacman” Jones to come any day -- and quite possibly the week of June 2.

The league has been busy investigating whether it believes Jones is ready for reinstatement. Jones has been anxious for a decision.

The feeling out of Dallas is one of optimism. If Jones is reinstated, the Cowboys will have an extensive monitoring program in place for the cornerback. They will be working closely with him on where to live, how to live, doing everything possible to give him every tool to get his life and career back on track.

If Jones is reinstated, Dallas could go from being thin at cornerback to being deep there. The Cowboys drafted South Florida cornerback Mike Jenkins in the first round, and he already has impressed team officials with his abilities. Jones would give them one more talent on a team already loaded with it.

It looks like it is getting close, anyway. Better to know, one way or the other.

this isn't shocking. he met with the commish, he applied for reinstatement.

if the NFL's investigations of his activities come up clean then he's getting reinstated.

One thing not mentioned about this piece on NFLN, Schefter said the support system in place in Dallas had a big influence on Goodell's decision. He said the Cowboys control everything to do with Pacman's life - what he eats, where he lives, you name it.

Then Schefter mentioned Tank Johnson and his transition from being suspended to now being considered a leader on our team. The Cowboys are likely the best prepared team in the league to handle such players and Goodells knows it.

The Cowboys appear determined to turn Pacman's life around--if that's what he finally realizes he must do. Hopefully the Commish believes the Cowboys have the best chance to help get Pacman's life on track & sees that as a positive thing. Believe Jerry will get a call from the Commish just before the decision is announced & hopefully it's at least a sort of go & not a flat out no.

Given how long the Pacman problem has dragged on, I doubt the Commish fully reinstates Pacman now, but for starters he could allow Pacman to visit VR to meet with Calvin Hill & his support group, work out with our trainers so he could begin getting back into football shape & get a copy of the defensive playbook so he can start to learn our defensive system. Of course, the Commish could go 1 step further & agree to let Pacman participate in any remaining OTAs & the June minicamp. If Pacman doesn't get into any further trouble & nothing comes out to prove he ordered any hit in Vegas, the Commish will probably meet with him again & shortly announce in early July that Pacman's suspension is lifted & he can participate in the Cowboys TC & play in the regular season.

i sure do hope so, i want pacman working out with the team now, get in football shape, and go from there, so when training camp starts, pacman is at least in some kind of football shape, so be end of training camp, most of the rust is knocked off at least.

What I find curious is Goodell's decision had to wait until the new conduct policy for teams was in place. The one that fines the team if its players break the conduct policy.

I wonder if that delayed the decision for Pacman.

yeah, goofball is set to fine us the cowboys if pacman or a player gets in trouble,

but again, goodell did say, they wont hold any past crimes against us, just new off field incidents etc, after a certain date this year,
