Marcell Dareus to the Cowboys for a fifth-round pick
The Bills were active this offseason and have one more move to make, clearing a huge dead cap figure for Dareus in 2018 and creating more cap flexibility. The Cowboys add talent to the interior of the defensive line and give Rod Marinelli a key piece down the stretch.
---
I would do this trade in a second. Would even bump it up to a 4th.

Agree 100 percent.

Not with a ten-foot pole!

He's their version of Albert Haynesworth.

I'd entertain Hankins or Dareus............. I just would need the contract implications in trading for either. I am not taking massive cap hits for either.

The Cowboys have worked FA to create a big-volume haul on Draft weekend 2018 with 13 picks help will arrive.
Meanwhile situational rusher, and Rushman Hall of Famer/assistant coach, #94 awaits a half-season contract.

No way we want his contract but for whatever reason, he and new coaching staff are not a good fit. Read something where he was struggling with the new D scheme. If he was released then hell yea ............

How about Patrick Peterson? Arizona is going downhill quick and might be wanting to re-tool w/ the Fitz and Palmer about done. Wonder if they would trade him and what it would take

Way more than any corner, including Peterson, is worth.

I'd take on a fair contract for a good player, but Dareus' appears to smell to high heaven.

I'd be curious from the cap experts how a trade would even work from our perspective - in terms of cap usage. Are we on the hook for future cap hits or are we just responsible for essentially base salary and any future bonuses (roster bonus, for example) that haven't already been paid out by Buffalo.

I assume if we even entertained this, we'd want to talk contract restructure (kind of like how Tennessee re-worked Murray's deal when he was traded from Philly).
