The way I see it, IF (big if) we can get the defense to average over the offseason, there is a two year window to win something. Weakening your offense is counterproductive. Pay him on a 3-4 year deal and roll the dice.

Eventually he will get called for it when it hurts.
That being said, the guy is good. Having Pickens and Lamb is a quarterback's dream come true.
