Schlereth: I wouldn't invest two cents in George Pickens

Yeah, a trade off for Pickens for a good defense is great. I just don't believe that will happen. So they might as well pay Pickens.
This is a reasonable assumption given teh history of the Cowboys but they already have 3 DTs that give them a solid rotation for the first time in years.

The hate brigade on Pickens is pathetic. They don’t give this same energy to AJ Brown though. Or Jamar Chase or Jefferson….one cries after wins, the other spits on people and the other sulks and stays quiet. Yet Pickens is the problem.
What are you talking about?

First of all, why would a Cowboys board spend time whining about AJ Brown's lack of effort? That makes no sense. Further, in Philly, he's gotten fried pretty good by some in the media and fans. Further, he's taken criticism from come in the national media. So I have no idea what you are trying to say here.

My post was about media and Mark Schlereth. Not the posters on the board. I’m well aware of how fickle this site is. I wouldn’t waste my time making a post about how people are on site. Maybe that’s why you have no idea why I’m saying.

Warts and all, he's still a top 5 WR in the NFL. You take the good with the bad until the bad is unbearable. Meanwhile, it's up to Cap Boy and Johnny Walker Sr. to configure a contract that's fair but flexible if Pickens implodes.

He's still a top shelf WR, I would at least franchise tag him.
It's true that he was an unfortunate no-show against the Lions, but that game was lost for a host of reasons, not the least of which was our inability to cover kick returns and to control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

Pickens has played some terrific football for us in all games except one. I want to keep him; having to cover both Pickens and Lamb is a nightmare for most teams.

I don't know that it's an either/or regarding Pickens and those guys. Brown certainly catches flak for his issues, I know that.

But, regardless, on this forum, where the focus is Cowboys issues and Cowboys players, Pickens will command the most attention.

Like i said earlier i was referencing the media like Schlereth and Sherman. Not the fans.

Schelereth used to play for Washington.

His takes are as transparent as glass.

Schlereth has as much objectivity as my dry needling physician's assistant

Wrong take, Coog. Did you listen to the audio? Did you discern that I did not mention everything Schlereth said, which comprised the bulk of his commentary? Did you hear Schlereth himself say, "By the way, just on a tangent..."?

105.3 The Fan was interviewing an ex-12-year NFL veteran with three Super Bowl rings. Sure, I am certain the radio station wants 'Please give me your thoughts!' soundbites for ratings, but what they should be receiving from Schlereth are his professional football opinions concerning a professional football player when the conversation is about professional football.

Perhaps it's just me, but that's my expectation. If my take is wrong, 105.3 The Fan should dismiss people like Schlereth and reserve prime airtime for interviewing guys like you and me. Yeah. I could say 'By the way, just on a tangent...' (if asked about Jones as GM):

"No way I would hire Jerry Jones."

"I wish I could buy him for what he's worth and sell him for what he thinks he is worth."

"There is no way I would let that guy squat in his office a milli-second longer."

"I wouldn't miss any sleep firing that guy."

...but again, the media outlet did not secure an on-the-air interview time slot for guys like you and me, did they?
Here I go thinking I have a friend and I don't! Every time I say think, wife says THERE YOU GO THINKING AGAIN!!!! LOL

Are those players Dallas is potentially signing this offseason?
