Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer goes in depth in Kenneth Murray and Logan Wilson and says Murray is playing better than what your eyes are seeing in real time:
“When we added Logan, we were just trying to add depth, getting better. K9, I love his physicality. Man, I love the fact that he can run and hit, and you talk a little bit at times about his, you know, his eye progression and seeing things like that. Logan's been here a couple weeks. I think both guys give us, you know, a chance to play well and win, and again to the naked eye, you know, sometimes you look at things and you're, like, oh, it's that guy's fault, or it's this guy's fault or shotty's the problem or whatever. And you know, that's what we sign up for, but at the same time, it's not always what you are dealing with, and so what we need to do for a defensive stand point, is get back to playing the way that we were against Philadelphia late Kansas City for the most part throughout the game in Las Vegas and, that's not just about one guy. It's about all the guys, but right, communicating, and things like that and I do like the competition that we created in that room”
Dude don’t even joke. Could you imagine this place if it happenedPeople better brace themselves for the multi year extension.![]()
When he makes comments like that he comes off as one.A total clown coach.
I'm not pleased either. It's borderline nuts. He's dooming the success of the team and his own job.I lost a lot of respect for Schott after seeing this

That’s just it. He didn’t say that. It’s just Clarence Hill creating a quote that never happenedWow, I would have certainly not said those words.
Murray is a hot button right now. There is a better way of addressing him as a player trying to contribute, but turning the conversation into all the pundits, the fans and anyone who has an opinion is not seeing things correctly is not how I would address this.
He is politely saying many who are criticizing Murray are blind. Not a good approach.
He has to manage these press conferences better.

Heh. He actually does say that. Clarence was just rage baiting fans with a fake “summary” of the quote.Wow.
I get trying to protect your players in front of the media and not throwing them under the bus, but don’t straight-up lie to us and try to gaslight the fanbase like we don’t know what we’re watching. He could say something like,
"We all need to be better.......coaches included. It’s never just one guy. We’re going to clean up the details and help Murray play the way we know he can."
This! You’re exactly right.Yeah, I’d love to hear Schotty say he sucks and we need better and we are benching his asz, but if you Read the quote, Schotty doesn’t really say that “Murray is playing better than what your eyes are seeing” Clarence Hill says he says it.
Or maybe you just don't know as much as you think you know. We all are on the outside looking in. Murray is an average linebacker. But he's not the only one getting washed up in the run defense.Ok, now this makes me lose confidence in him…..either he’s a liar, or he really believes this crap even though Murray is garbage and EVERYONE knows it.
While the 800 lb gorilla in the room is the atrocious special teams performance, with reached an ugly nadir against the Lions, when their average starting field position was their own 41 - 43 yard line. This already places the defense in a bad position...short field after short field. It certainly doesn't help. One first down and you can kick a field goal. You are basically asking your defense to keep pitching three and outs.Heh. He actually does say that. Clarence was just rage baiting fans with a fake “summary” of the quote.
Here’s what he said that matches your ask

I should know better, but even I can get momentarily misled when someone presents only a fragment of the story. The internet makes hot takes far too easy to fall for.Heh. He actually does say that. Clarence was just rage baiting fans with a fake “summary” of the quote.
