Schottenheimer: Murray is playing better than what your eyes are seeing

Yeah, I’d love to hear Schotty say he sucks and we need better and we are benching his asz, but if you Read the quote, Schotty doesn’t really say that “Murray is playing better than what your eyes are seeing” Clarence Hill says he says it.
Not surprising for Hill. He's terrible.

I think he’s made 1 play all season? The tipped pick

Dude is simply not good.

The Panthers late game conversion was completely on him

Schotty never says anything negative about his players. He always talks them up and I don't think it means anything.

The thing about Murry is he does show the quickness and athleticism at times. But other times he does things that are just mind-boggling. You see videos of him running away from or looking like he is lost. Those plays far outnumber the plays where he looks good. I don't care what Schotty says. Murry is a liability on defense more often than not. I don't know that Wilson is any better He has different flaws but they are still flaws.

LB is a position that needs to be fix in the offseason.

He’s been coaching for 25 years almost all of it in the NFL. His father coached for 21 years. What kind of couch potato thinks he’s smarter than someone with that background?
Anyone can notice the pathetic display Murray produces except you and coach. Better question is what kind of internet troll thinks football coaching automatically qualifies as high IQ? If you need evidence football IQ does not equate to real IQ, please reference grades and graduation rates of college players. I hate to burst your world outlook but football is not very complicated to understand but it is hard to play, big difference.

Your a real genius...

That’s just it. He didn’t say that. It’s just Clarence Hill creating a quote that never happened

“Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer goes in depth in Kenneth Murray and Logan Wilson and says Murray is playing better than what your eyes are seeing in real time”

If you read the actual quote, he never says that
My bad, I never took the time to read the actual transcript of the interview.

Apologies to Schotty, and jeers to Hill.

Professional football coaching is not solely a general IQ thing. If it was then Jason Garrett should have trounced everyone else in the league.

It is much more of a domain expertise and tribal knowledge thing combined with a personality thing for the coaches.

One thing I do believe is that a portion of football IQ does stem from general IQ, and the higher you go in the ranks the higher your overall general IQ needs to be.

But make no mistake this is not MENSA or Rhodes Scholar type IQ we are talking about here. It has its own classification - football IQ.

Don’t believe your lyin eyes!
All our linebackers, especially MURRAY need to watch tape of Shaun Lee. How he read the play and reacted! How he met the RB in the hole, not after a 5-7 yard gain.
Sean Lee was the real deal. For all of the slobbering over Parsons coming out of college and his potential as a LB, I would take Lee over him any day. Lee gave us interceptions (he had 3 in one season), forced fumbles, and a dozen tackles a game. He was our Ray Lewis - it's just unfortunate that his body of work was limited due him not being to avoid the injury bug.

Hey, we all do it! It’s the state of social media these days.

That being said, it’s guaranteed we see this “quote” recycled forever as a knock on Schottenheimer.

I agree with you. The genius crackrock poster misunderstood my initial take. It was centered around Shotty failing to state Murray is not playing well. Dont expect him to tear the player down but dont dance around. Not leasership in my mind. Crackrock made a ridicously statement that average Joes cannot analysis poor NFL play because Shotty is so experienced. My reply is simply stating understanding poor football does not require high IQ.

He knows a hell of a lot more than you that’s for sure. Do you really think you’re more qualified to make a judgement on any player on the team? Please tell me you don’t.

I see the same. Others just see the plays where he gets beat which in many cases are the fault of someone else. For whatever reason, the whole team played bad against Detroit. Maybe it was so many games in a short period of time but they need to get back to how they played against Vegas, Philthy and KC. All wins.
This has to be rage bait at this point.

He’s been demoted and fired everywhere. We know them couch potatoes have better critical thinking skills than you do.

Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer goes in depth in Kenneth Murray and Logan Wilson and says Murray is playing better than what your eyes are seeing in real time:

“When we added Logan, we were just trying to add depth, getting better. K9, I love his physicality. Man, I love the fact that he can run and hit, and you talk a little bit at times about his, you know, his eye progression and seeing things like that. Logan's been here a couple weeks. I think both guys give us, you know, a chance to play well and win, and again to the naked eye, you know, sometimes you look at things and you're, like, oh, it's that guy's fault, or it's this guy's fault or shotty's the problem or whatever. And you know, that's what we sign up for, but at the same time, it's not always what you are dealing with, and so what we need to do for a defensive stand point, is get back to playing the way that we were against Philadelphia late Kansas City for the most part throughout the game in Las Vegas and, that's not just about one guy. It's about all the guys, but right, communicating, and things like that and I do like the competition that we created in that room”

Jaylon Smith: Look at the tape!

Brian Marty McFly: better than what your eyes see!

Times change. Twaddlers do not.

Exactly, I have no clue and neither do you. I’m just man enough to admit it.

Well, it looks like he's playing terrible out there. So, if he's only playing very bad, I guess that's possible.

I love his physicality. Man, I love the fact that he can run and hit,

I guess he loves his linebackers avoiding tackles, and willfully being blocked out of the ball carriers path.
He's ranked as the 95th LB out of 95 eligle LBs, so I think he's trying not to damage Murray's ego any further. Why do that? Because we don't have anyone left to play. We'll have to wait until next year's training camp to cut him, then take the million dollar cap hit or whatever it heard it was.
