Twitter: Schottenheimer not optimistic about Guyton playing against Detroit

Not if he’s not fully recovered and going up against premier DE. LT is of course a very difficult position even when fully healthy.
Plus Detroit would go after him like a wounded animal if they even thought he wasn't 100%. Shotty won't risk that.

I doubt Guyton is even close. You don't miss only one or two weeks after a high ankle. I think that was just typical vague injury coach-speak from Schotty because someone in the media asked about TG.

After a ten day break, maybe it's more realistic.

Guyton’s injuries have become a major issue. I think OT in round 1 is a real possibility, although I’d prefer we use both 1sts on defense. Considering there are holes at so many positions I’m thinking the GB pick may be turned into a 2nd and 3rd, especially if it’s after pick 25.

One of the few position groups that has shown all year it has the backup talent to ride out injuries is the offensive line, so I guess if we were to lose someone, this would be the one. Even at the all important LT. Nate will do fine.

He seems to get hurt a lot. Am I wrong?
You're right. Nothing that really adds up to extremely long absences but he does get a lot of these bumps and bruises.

Of course he deserves a ton of credit for coming back for the opener from that camp knee injury that had a lot of people fearing he was out for the year.
