Schottenheimer was also horrible today

I’m still on the schottenheimer bandwagon
Me too. I'm still high on Schotty because regardless of Dak's play today Dak is still playing well. Milton also looked good. Schotty may have a way with QBs. He may be able to get the best out of QBs. If that's true then Schotty was a good hire.

We'll see how this plays out in the future.

I know all the anger is at Eberflus, but Schotty was horrendous today. He still doesn’t understand how bad this defense truly is, if he did he would never punt the ball with anything less than 4th and 5. They were never winning today but him punting twice on 4th and 3 or less was playing right into the hands of the broncos, same for the 4th and goal, kicking a fg was a loss. He needs to start coaching with zero trust for this defense nor should he
Before allllll of that. After the int they were 2nd down inside he one and they tried to pass it in. Then a false start. Stupid play call. Run it!!!!

Definitely some questionable calls, I understand why they settled for a field goal on their first drive, but from the 1 I would have just liked to see them run it 2 more times. Same thing on 3rd and short on a later drive. The defense was horrendous, and the offense just needed to do anything necessary to stay on the field.

Schotty saying the team fought and battled made me sick to the core. This guy is Jason Garrett 2.0 Don't be fooled by his talk. Judge him by what you see on the field of play. His teams show no heart in the biggest games. Penalties-non-tackling-missed assignments- bullied. Schotty is a great talker and what has talk ever did in sports?

Honestly yea , I was saying run ** the whole got darn game, then 4th down he punts. Mental midget this game. Eberflus is a funny dude, doesn’t blitz at all , few times a game but was all about trading away parsons. How did he agree with that?

I’m still on the schottenheimer bandwagon, but this is exactly why we can’t just ignore some red flags because the offense is doing well.

We’ve had some end of half issues, just look at the Washington game last week. He got bailed out by the Williams run but there was zero need to run the football there. Bad call that he got bailed out on. We all have Tolbert being thrown onto the field when we have better players. Now today we see some very questionable play calling.

It’s a rookie HC who is going to take his lumps. Overall I think he’s done fine, but we shouldn’t ignore some of his problem areas.
I'm good with Schotty as both HC and play caller as of now ...
- he believes in running the ball, ..
- he believe in balance attack ...
- he beleves in pushing the ball downfield, he's not conservative, even on the road.
- he tries to make players and coaches accountable.
- he took action to get involved in defensive coaching,..
- he applied discipline to CB Diggs; probably only so much he can do per Jerry
- he added Clayton Adams to his staff that has been super key to this offense.
- i like that he is involving & scheming TE Ferguson in the Red Zone per far more TDs vs 2024

- I only like to be on watch to see if he adjusts in game and continues to evolve as a play caller. Not just be limited to the current green play book
and that be the end of it. Opposing teams will film study & counter scheme against you, take away what you prefer to do the most.

- I want to see him designs and implement RBs into the pass game more . ala Blue & Lupeke

.

I’ve really liked Schottenheimer’s willingness to go under center and pound the rock and use playaction out of that. Where was that in the Denver game? I could swear that Mike McCarthy was calling the plays again. Too much shotgun, especially on the goaline. The plays that were called put 100% on Dak’s shoulders at a time our tackles were struggling to pass block. Dak was running for his life from a defense that seemed to bring five rushers every passing down. I sincerely hope Schottenheimer goes back to pounding the run game and establishing the line of scrimmage.

He needs to be more aggressive stop kicking field goals inside the 5 yard line!

Shotty is just another mediocre nepo baby with a top coaching position handed to him. A comfort hire for someone too scared to step out of the box and hire the best qualified candidate. You slow bros will see when the team barely finishes at .500.

Agreed. All points I've made inthe game thread. Vance Joesph had this defense pin its ears back and wouldn't let Dak sit inthe pocket at all. Running the ball sound good but with an aggressive defensive line, no way running lanes were going to be open to make an impact for Dallas. I was screaming at the TV for Schotty to call screen pass to soften up the Denver's D line.

Screen pass would have been an easy pick 6. Romo style.

Schotty is just a more qualified version of Jason Garrett. He has all of the classic coach speak terms down, but isn't actually good at his job. He's a puppet and the only reason he's here is because the Owner/GM knows he's a yes man.
Disagree, Schotty is good HC but he and the fans know they cant overcome this defense and awful DC
He cant say that but he has no margin for error on offense and cant make any mistakes. if he had an average defense they would be tied for first.

He coached scared all day. His team was unprepared. His DC is guilty of malpractice.

Schotty is motivational and inspirational— but that had amounted to nothing more than hot air to this point.

Hard decisions need to be made. And this team puts its head in the sand from the FO on down.

They love their big houses, yachts, and the media spotlight when they are frontrunning. They wilt the moment an actual challenge presents itself.

That was huge just as the James Houston offsides.

If we score there and get that stop we possibly go up 14-0 and it’s a completely different ball game
IDK Carson......Payton mentioned taking advantage of our secondary issues at halftime. So he KNEW plenty of plays were there, and what happened? Notice the graphic near the end of the game........The Broncos have seven 20+ yard plays to the Cowboys' 1.

It's bad........30+ years of watching the Cowboys, I have never seen our defense this bad. It's like an NFL-level offense playing against a college-level defense. Offenses are eating them alive, and there ain't damn thing the players can do about it.

What was the point to not punt it we were going to get sacked or got called for a penalty
