I’m still on the schottenheimer bandwagon, but this is exactly why we can’t just ignore some red flags because the offense is doing well.
We’ve had some end of half issues, just look at the Washington game last week. He got bailed out by the Williams run but there was zero need to run the football there. Bad call that he got bailed out on. We all have Tolbert being thrown onto the field when we have better players. Now today we see some very questionable play calling.
It’s a rookie HC who is going to take his lumps. Overall I think he’s done fine, but we shouldn’t ignore some of his problem areas.
I'm good with Schotty as both HC and play caller as of now ...
- he believes in running the ball, ..
- he believe in balance attack ...
- he beleves in pushing the ball downfield, he's not conservative, even on the road.
- he tries to make players and coaches accountable.
- he took action to get involved in defensive coaching,..
- he applied discipline to CB Diggs; probably only so much he can do per Jerry
- he added Clayton Adams to his staff that has been super key to this offense.
- i like that he is involving & scheming TE Ferguson in the Red Zone per far more TDs vs 2024
- I only like to be on watch to see if he adjusts in game and continues to evolve as a play caller. Not just be limited to the current green play book
and that be the end of it. Opposing teams will film study & counter scheme against you, take away what you prefer to do the most.
- I want to see him designs and implement RBs into the pass game more . ala Blue & Lupeke
