I think maybe some classic Jerry overpaying might be on the near horizon. Some middling FAs who are far superior to the likes of those last year loser Elams and Murray's of the world but still not good enough to fully move the needle

I could see them getting that Okereke LB from the Giants which was a previous thread. And while not Murray type horrific, he's still not so much of an improvement to brag about in your second level of defense.

He just won't look like the worst and most lost linebacker in the league like Murray so that type improvement will supposedly do the trick in Jerry's eyes.

And of course he'll be a few million over paid.

BUT at least they finally spent, so that will be the news and attention the GM is looking for, right?

If true they'll make the playoffs. If they treat this as they have a 2 year window to win a championship and go get 1-2 top 20 FAs to help the defense they can be really good. I'm skeptical they do so as they tend to look for the best bargains over established production....but if they do watch out for the Cowboys. Defensively they can turn this thing around quick if they don't take shortcuts and actually start playing to win.

Not at all. Take Crosby in a trade for the 12th pick. Then draft who ever is left over between Jacob Rodriguez and CJ Allen at #20. Then I'd be satisfied with a very good start.

Then dont overpay average guys needed to fulfill other roles.

This is neither too costly or a totally unrealistic scenario for the Raiders or Cowboys.

And your plan?
