Schultz to command top TE money

He has done “ok”

Not worth throwing a bunch of money on, easily replaced

Probably not.

Jarwin being paid is the problem.

Jarwin being paid was a problem but I don’t believe it’s a problem next year, I believe there is a savings if he’s cut pre June 1.

Regardless, Schultz is not worth paying bc it hurts the chances of bringing back better players; and Schultz is certainly not top 5 TE money

Most of Schultz production comes in blowout games against scrub teams.

What kinda production did he put up when Lamb and Cooper were out.

He might be the 5th worst te not the 5th best. We need a stud not a dud

He is not worth that money, he can't even block and he has had some seriously bad plays. I'd much rather keep Jarwin and draft a TE or pick up a cheaper FA.
Yeah, I mean Jarwin has had some bad luck with injuries but he was getting pretty good up until then. Why f up the cap by cutting Jarwin and creating dead money just to have to figure out a way to sign Shultz. I like Shultz but he isn't that great and is easily replaced.

Schultz will not get top TE money from the Cowboys, so all of you that like him, enjoy him while he's here because he won't be next season.

Been surprisingly good at times, but let's slow down a bit on his value. Very Witten-like to me.

No. I will keep Jarwin and draft.

Jarwin's best season was 2019 when he had 31 catches for 365 yards and 3 TD's......in 2021 he has 10 catches 90 yards and 2 TD's

He is making $4.5M this season and scheduled to make $6.25M next season.

In 2020 Schultz had 63 catches for 615 yards and 4 TD's while in 2021 he has 53 catches for 584 yards and 4 TD's while making $2.2M this season.

The point is Jarwin is less than half the TE Schultz has been so I wouldn;t look to hang your hat on Jarwin and a draft pick.

Not hanging my hat on him. Just saying we won’t pay Shultz that much he will walk along with a few others like maybe Gallup and Gregory and Pollard. We may cut Jarwin and develop what we have and draft another..

Releasing/trading Jarwin after this season saves Dallas $4.25M ($2M dead money) so hypothetically if Schultz is in the $8M-$10M/average season range based on current TE contracts, half his salary is accounted for by letting Jarwin go who is inconsequential on this team. Add to that the fact Dallas can save $5M by trading/releasing Anthony Brown ($1.5M dead money) and suddenly Dallas easily has enough to bring Schultz back (as well as another seeing as how Schultz's contract would be cap friendly in the beginning).

I think we have bigger fish to keep in our pond.

PS. His blocking is really poor, but he certainly can get open and has a bit of wiggle after the catch.
