Schultz to command top TE money

I’m having too much fun watching you look ridiculous. Keep going kiddo!
smh, you don't win anything by keeping posting.
I guess you can't take your own advice about hijacking a thread.

I'm done.

He is not worth that money, he can't even block and he has had some seriously bad plays. I'd much rather keep Jarwin and draft a TE or pick up a cheaper FA.

You would rather have Jarwin over Dalton Schultz? lol There was a lot of love for Schultz last year who surprised all of us. He’s currently having a better season than last year and now some are down on him because his price tag will be going up. Yeah let’s keep Blake Jarwin who’s always injured and rarely shows up and bring in a cheap free agent. That’s a great formula for building a championship team. Lol

With that in mind, that’s why I firmly believe what’s the difference between him and Jarwin? Neither are system changers here and both share similar weaknesses.

being a 5th or 6th option here does not warrant top TE money.

Schultz is still a better player than Witten was for about the last 4 or 5 years of Witten career.

He has done nothing close to what a top five TE is doing, let him walk.

Google... Jason Witten stats....and you'll see that just isn't true. Hell, a pro bowl!

He really disappeared once teams caught on to him, so while it’s possible, I doubt it
That or they ‘game-planned’ him out of the offense to keep his number reasonable lol. Obviously I’m kidding but hey you never know

I could care less about stats.

Schultz the last 2 years is better than old Witten.

Well, Witten is histories all time 4th leading receiver, an 11 time pro bowler, considered to be just behind Gonzalez as the greatest TE in history. that will never be Schultz. Doubt he will rival Jay Novacek.

Nothing about him says top five anything.

Good comparison because he blocks about as well as Henry. Henry was and is a hybrid receiver. I am not sure Schultz is the receiver he is.

I think a better idea than paying any TE's is to review their patterns and try to figure out why so many of them are short of the marker. Schultz is not any better at breaking tackles than Witten was.

If the Cowboys want to go the route of a receiver TE, they need to have a true blocking TE as well because the run game needs it.

The other thing they might want to consider is teaching their WR's to block, that's an area Dez held the upper hand on all of these WR's. Running teams have good WR blocking.

And that’s fine and we’ll. Schultz will never be as good as peak Witten.

Schultz right now is better than Witten was his last 3 or 4 years here. He also might be a better redzone threat than Witten ever was.

Why talk the old Witten, compare where both were at the same stage of their careers, that is how ya do this.

Old Witten still blocks better than young Schultz; however you’re right enough that Schultz proved that he should have had a role while Witten was in that last season.

But still,, Witten is #4 all time in NFL history in catches; to pick on the back end of his HOF career doesn’t mean I’d rather have Schultz than Witten.

Of course it remains to be seen but fodder to discuss.

“According to CBS Sports’ Joel Corry, expect Schultz to earn a new contract similar to that of the New England Patriots‘ Hunter Henry. Henry signed his deal during the 2021 offseason and earned himself a three-year, $37.5 million deal and $25 million guaranteed.

Corry projects Schultz to earn a deal with a $12.5 million average, $25 million in guarantees across three years. That sort of contract would place Schultz in the top five among highest-paid players at his position in terms of annual value.“

Dak says pay the man!!

CW? What?

The way I see it, we have 3 options at LG for 2022........
McGovern
Resign CW ( $6-8M is max I'd go)
Draft........not sure we'd burn a 1st on a guard. So I'm guessing a 2nd would be the earliest, which brings the next question. Who would you rather start 2nd round rookie or Connor Williams? As many have said, CW is pretty solid IF you can live with his penalties.

Remember my question was given the choice, would you resign Shultz or CW?

Can't give him that kind of contract. It's the same old story of paying good players big money.
