So when does he start? This guy makes plays when he is on the field and led KC in tackles the last two years.

I really hope the D comes to play this week, we still don't have a good read on them yet. They are ranked in the Top 5 in some defensive areas, but still give up 31 points to the Niners and 24 to the Chargers.

I would expect to see much more of him this week considering LaMont Jordans size. I think he will come in for Singleton a little more then normal.

I'm really hoping BP starts this guy over Singleton soon. Fujita is atleast a moderate pass rushing threat while Singleton is none at all. With Fujita in there Zimmer could counter some of the o-line protection that teams are swinging totally over to Ware, keeping them a teeny bit honest.

parcells said last week he played about 40 plays, he envisions him playing about 50 plays or so, 25 special teams and 25 defense, he is gaining confidence in fujita, as well as price the safety, so sounds good, only thing he is worried about on defense is inexperience at linebacker, and wearing out older vets at linebacker like dat i think

I really wish people would stop using the "lead team in tackles for two years" stat... His tackle numbers were low and he was the only linebacker healthy during that time. That is the only reason he lead the team (If he even actually led the team - see my previous post on the subject). Also he was a member of the worst linebacking corp in the NFL during that period. Not only that but when KC cleaned house they made no attempt to keep Fujita even though they did keep the WLB for the previous two years.

This guys is trying to be better, and that's great. But there is absolutely no reason, other than his size, to expect he can be any better than what we already have.

I do like the way this guy moves at LB.....really smooth.....and great size for the position.......why not let him start for Singleton? I read where BP was going to play young guys more then usual......this may be the week.

Who cares we just traded for three weeks ago and maybe he does not know the playbook yet? He's bigger and looks smooth.

We should be perfectly satisfied we have him as depth for now. He might be a starter in time, but there is no reason to rush things. If we do, those of you who constantly complain about Singleton would really have something to complain about if we put a player in there who might not have his assignments down pat.

Remember, the defense gave up 24 points to the 49ers. An INT was returned for a TD.

If our defense can hold every team we face to 24 points or less, we are in good shape.

I agree Alex, while I'm excited to see Fajita play...I also still feel comfortable with Al in there. While many claim Singleton cannot play - you rarely hear his name called for blown assignments/coverage.

Apparently you missed the memo.

Singleton is TINY.

Therefore, he is no good.

I think Al is gonna be slowly worked out of the starting lineup. With Burnett and Fujita on his heels fighting for a starting job it's going to be tough for him to keep it next year, especially making over 2 million i think it was. If Fujita ends up taking James spot in the middle which i think he will by the end of the year, then Burnett is still there to take al's spot. Burnett has too much talent and speed to be sitting on the bench for too long, but his injuries are imo going to determine when he is going to start or not.

Exactly, the first thing that Burnett has to do is get healthy. It's kinda hard to take Al's job when he can't get on the field at all. Also, I think Fajita is OLB in the 3-4.

Let's not replace Al just to replace him. Let's wait until somebody better comes along (which might end up being Fajita).

I havent gotten a chance to focus on Fujita and get more indepth on his playstyle, but based on size he should be a ilb. He may need to strength train or get tougher but he will probably start for us at ilb. and burnett who is faster would play olb where he could blitz (YAY!!!) and cover when he needs to.
