Before cams shoulder got busted he was having his best year passing and was still a threat on the ground.

The FO won’t ever make Dak run as much as Cam. Somewhere in the middle between overly cautious and reckless.

A sad truth we may all have to accept is that Jason Garrett does not favor the “new” NFL offenses that have cropped up the last few years. Garrett has a strong belief in the traditional NFL offensive philosophy similar to what we had here in the 90s.

That’s not all bad. But it’s more difficult to win that way nowadays because it requires your team to be able physically dominate opponents and force your will on them consistently.

In today’s salary cap/parity dominant era, having a team like the 92 Cowboys is almost impossible to assemble. That’s why more creative offenses are becoming the norm because you can’t just line up and dominate opponents on a regular basis anymore.

Until Garrett gets that I don’t expect an innovative OC here.

I love the traditional smash mouth philosophy but as we saw when the Oline got dinged up we struggled . The young guys on there rookie contracts are helping with the cap but the window is closing fast on that . We need a good draft a few quality FAs and an OC that knows when to use the smash mouth game and when not to run it into the heart of the best DTs in football . LOL

Sheesh old school smash mouth football is great but being totally predictable when you are the one getting physically dominated is just stupid . Circumstances alter cases and we need a guy that can evaluate the situation quickly and make proper adjustments on the fly . Not a guy that is going to stick to the same old plan no matter who the opponent is and squander opportunities

He actually was having best year of his career before his shoulder injury this year. Norv really helped his accuracy
