I think Jerry is trying to use the sun as a “home field” advantage, similar to how baseball teams utilize their stadiums, such as Boston’s Fenway Park with its Green Monster and short fences in right field. The idea is yes, it is easier to hit a double in Fenway if you hit a long ball to left field or hit a HR if you hit one to right field compared to other parks. However, both teams have an equal opportunity to bat. The advantage or disadvantage will impact both teams equally. The home team should have the advantage because they regularly play games in their stadium.
