Strengths:
Has terrific timed speed and quickness with a burst...Excellent size and he knows how to use it...Has a pretty solid build and the frame to bulk up further...Has long arms...Elusive and runs well after the catch...Shows some power and he'll break tackles...Has big hands and will snatch the ball out of the air...A big play threat in the vertical passing game...Coming off his best season and still has some upside.

Weaknesses:
Not a great route runner...Drops some balls due to a lack of concentration...Not a great blocker...Does not get off the line well versus the jam...Is not very tough or physical...Will not work across the middle much...Needs some technique work and still has to master the nuances of his craft...Has some minor durability concerns.

Notes:
Was a top recruit coming out of high school...Redshirted in 2003 due to a knee injury...Was considered to be a bit of an underachiever until his junior year when he had a fantastic season and was named an All-American...He's somewhat of a finesse player who has the physical tools you look for...May be similar to another former Vol Donte Stallworth...Stock may soar if he works out as well as expected.

Because he runs a quick 40 which means he MUST be good

[ according to the common beliefs about 40 times around here anyway ]

Strong enough to break tackles and "use his size" but at the same time not very tough or physical.....

You have to read the full evaluation not just the negatives.

if you go by production and production alone to rank players....(throw out combine #s and scouting reports) you will see Robert Meachem on a week in week out basis was clearly the 2nd best WR in the country. I took a look at Meachem, Bowe, Jarrett, Rice, and Ginn and not only do Meachems #s destroy the rest...but he also was the most consistent vs quality opponents. Not only did he play in the SEC which was by far the best conference in the country last yr (as did Bowe and Rice) but in games vs good teams he was the only WR of the 3 to consistently have an impact on the game....Bowe and Rice each had numerous games in which they were non factors...Meachem had by far the fewest of the 3.....Jarretts production probably was the 2nd best but his competition level was no where near the competition meachem faced.....I was NOT a meachem fan before doing this research and right now hes a top my WR rankings as far as who I want Dallas to select at 22...obviously CJ wont be there....

* 71 receptions 1298 yards 18.3 avg.(84L) 11TD
*6-3 214 4.39

The guy has everything scouts and coaches look for in a player. size, speed, production- whats not to like?

I saw one comparison to Javon Walker, that pretty much fits imo.

He completely disappeared during the bowl game. That has to be a bit of a red flag.

I don't have the coaches film so I can not verify the validity of the following statement but didn't Fulmer when asked why he didn't use him more say he was doubled on over 90% of the plays.

This guy will be a stud.

Imagine the possibilities if we some how got this guy. Our 4 and 5 wide sets would be freakishly freaky.

Danger, i like the way you think about wr sets but when was the last time we went 5 wide?????? Heck, I think we've only gone 4 wide maybe 5 times last year. But still I like the threat that that set provides.....

We went 5 wide like twice a game last year.

I love the idea of Meachem in the first round, he wont have the pressure to perform as the #1 or 2, but will be a nice added threat when we spread the field. I think bulking up and getting used to the NFL game for a year will be nice for him, kinda like what he did in college where he didnt blossom until his jr. year.

Hopefully our new HC won't be as afraid to unleash the offense as our last HC was. I hope he didn't pick up any of Schottenheimer's Marty Ball crap ideas.

Just as an aside...Hopefully he will unleash the defense as well.

Id be perfrectly content if Wade was exactly like Parcells was on the offensive side of the ball. Wasn't the prettiest but hard to argue with Top 5 results.
