Bryan Broaddus posts his latest thought in the young players at mini-camp.

I found this encouraging about Weems:

10. Just my opinion, but Darrion Weems has a chance to be a much better player than what the Cowboys got from Jermey Parnell as that backup tackle. Weems is a better athlete and his football intelligence is improving with every snap that he is receiving. I also believe that he is a more consistent performer than Parnell, who could be too up and down. He’s stable.

Is Coleman going to end up being knuckle head/ waste of talent or will the light come on?

I'ill be surprised if Dallas gets more out of Weems than it did Parnell. Parnell was capable enough to start to get paid to do it by another team this year. Stable doesn't necessarily translate to being that good. Parnell had his bad moments, but his good moments were very good.

In a year or, Dallas could end up having one the deepest and best clines in the league.
Now that'd be a radical change.
Only potential for now though.

Broaddus dogged Weems last year at the start of TC before Weems got injured.

Bob Sturm just finished his series reviewing who was at fault for each sack during the 2014 regular season.

Parnell had 5 starts but was not at fault for any of the regular season sacks according to Sturm.

Free was responsible for more than anyone despite missing 5 games.

That is not fair to Parnell his football career is still more or less in its infancy where I am sure Weems probably has 3 times the experience playing football parnell did when he entered the league. Parnell only has been playing football for a total of 6-7 years and 4-5 as an OL. Weems may be better but I doubt he is a better athlete.

I find it funny that some believe that Leary is the weak link of the projected starting 5.

Maybe this is what they mean when they say he is the leader of the OL.

Why didn't the Cowboys keep Parnell and let the older, less reliable player go?

I thought he dogged Parnell and thought Weems would surpass him, then he got injured.

I didn't take it as a knock on Parnell, but rather an endorsement of Weems and a positive sign for a position where the team had a need. Given the bad news we've gotten on both Gibson and Green in terms of injury, it's nice to hear some good news about another tackle.

So when Sturm's work is positive regarding a player you like, then it has merit?

9. Still waiting to see something from Chris Whaley inside at defensive tackle. Here’s hoping that when the pads come on, he will make more plays. Right now he is playing too high and being controlled along the line of scrimmage.

Wait a minute, I thought he was the reason we didn't need to draft any defensive tackles. Read it right here.

Weems' problem is that he's never been healthy. Parnell got opportunities to start, Weems hasn't. It is not like there is an even amount of evidence to project the two on the same level.

That tends to be how it works with any pundit. If they agree, their work is spot on. Disagree, they don't know what they are talking about.
