  • No offense to Nolan Carroll, but I am going to find a way to keep playing Anthony Brown and Jourdan Lewis in his place. There is just a different attitude in the way that those two play, which gives this defense an edge. The scouts told me during training camp to keep an eye on Lewis when he gets healthy because he had special skills. What I enjoyed most about watching him play this week was his willingness to come forward and make open-field tackles. Give me a competitive cornerback who is willing to tackle and our defense will find ways to win games. I think that’s what you get from him and Brown.

  • I am sure that I am missing someone, but other than Aaron Rodgers, you would be hard pressed to find a quarterback in the league that throws the ball on the move better than Prescott. His ability to throw accurately moving either to his left or right is impressive. The two throws that he made to Brice Butler couldn’t have been put in any better of a spot. To make those throws without setting his feet speaks volumes to his arm talent and strength. I am not sure he makes those types of downfield throws last season, but tonight it was old hat.

  • I am surprised that Palmer decided to pick on Byron Jones on that final pass in the end zone to Gresham. I was almost positive that he would have tried to find Larry Fitzgerald but he didn’t. Jones had a nice bounce-back game after a rough one last week against the Broncos. It appeared that his positioning in coverage was better, and other than his one defensive holding call, I liked the way that he stayed aggressive in his coverage. We had seen Marinelli move him around before in coverage, and for him to play in and out of the slot was once again impressive. Not many safeties have the ability to carry a receiver like Fitzgerald and then deny a big receiving tight end the ball on an in breaking route.

For those of us who might not have read the whole article, I liked what he said about Switzer. He's doing a good job returning punts and will more than likely be used more generously in the weeks to follow. He'll gradually be inserted to be used as an effective target for Dak.

"I know the coaches have a great deal of respect for him and consider him one of their best four defensive linemen, so it really wasn’t a surprise to see him play there."

I'm not sure what they're going to do at that point. Or even who they're going to release. It'll probably be a defender, that's about all I can guess right now.

Good problem to have, though. As long as we're getting DL pressure, I'm happy.
Im guessing it will be Benewekere since that will give us the pick back. We should have all hands on deck in the secondary by then.

If you sack leader from the prior is a potential inactive, then yes it is a good problem. Could be Charlton, but he has made improvements the last couple games. They probably dont want to sit him

If Kyle Wilber can't keep himself from jumping offside on special teams, like he did twice last night, I would nominate him.

You're right. I thought they would go to Larry Fitzgerald on the last play.

I also want to se the Anthony Brown who finished last season.

Benewekere would be my pick if I had to pick one, but yeah, the CB injuries make that dicey. Kellen Moore is a darkhorse candidate. We'd have given Rush four games to see what the routine is like, which is not much, but it's better than having to start a rookie in his first pro game at the very start of a season. And Moore will still be there if you need him as a backup later. Maybe a RB, if we had the hearing over already, but that's not looking likely. So, yeah, it's that or cut another LB on defense, I guess.

I liked that he mentioned Chris Jones. What a asset we have with this guy. Punts the ball deep and out of bounds with no chance of return. He flips the field for us and the guy just doesn't get enough credit.:clap::clap::yourock:

And he sticks his head in on tackles. Maybe my favorite thing about him. He's entering McBriar territory in my book.

I wonder if Mayowa is gonna be the inactive once Irving is healthy?
Just a note. I was incorrect in saying "once Irving is healthy ". Should have been when he comes off suspension.

Just to clear up some possible confusion as to if he was hurt on top of his suspension

Loved how Lewis played. Been waiting for a CB that can come up and tackle with consistency

Hopefully Awuzie Lewis and Woods will be a nice future core on the back end

Dak made some great throws on the run yesterday but he has to make good throws in the context of the regular offense. you can't win games consistently when the QB HAS to rely on broken plays

Taco is a rookie. Give him time

Probably, but man we have a lot of DEs.

-Lawrence, Mayowa, Crawford, Irving, Moore, Taco and Tapper

That's really too many, I'd like to see Crawford moved to the back up 3T spot, but that's still a bit of a log jam.

I dont think they would be willing to cut any of them though. I think they would assume go heavy at DE. Moore is the only one I could see them possibly cutting and he got a 46 spot over Tapper

I agree, while Lawrence is playing great, I'd say the rest of pretty average, but would all easily get picked up if cut.
