  • Last week I thought Chaz Green had some balance problems at guard. This time around, he did a much better job of handling his technique. There were some situations where he and Tyron Smith had to handle some blitzes and games up front and he was good to go. He wasn’t overextended and reaching for his man. His weight was better through his feet and his knees had some bend to them. There was overall better adjustment to his game.

  • I like what I saw from Chidobe Awuzie in coverage out of the sub package, especially playing inside. His size makes him a good prospect to match up with big receivers and tight ends. He made a solid play while carrying Connor Hamlett across the field, knocking the ball away in the flat with his off hand.

FRISCO, Texas – This will be a fun three days to determine how much this team has developed in the past two months.

These are our final three practices until training camp, so this will serve as a lasting impression until we see the pads come on. Considering all of that, it was fun to get out there and see how this offense and defense went at each other to start the week off.

Here are some notes and observations from the practice fields here at The Star:

For the first time in three years, the Cowboys will have a different look to an offensive line that has earned a reputation as the best in the league. Right tackle Doug Free retired, and left guard La’El Collins, who started only three games last season because of surgery on his right big toe, is moving to right tackle. Chaz Green, who was moved from right tackle, and Emmett Cleary took snaps with the first team at left guard Tuesday

Hearing about Heath only bothers me in one way......why do we never hear about a Bryon INT.

Is it like a tree falling in the woods with noone around, did it make a sound. If Heath is always around the ball, where is Byron.

Not like they are treating him like Deion and not throwing his way.

Because some guys are athletic and reactive and some are less athletic but proactive.

Wilcox was neither. He was a fat FS that was only good at coming downhill and laying wood on stationary targets.

I'll wait until camp when the defense can hit and tackle.

Most improved means the ones that are vets and not rookies.

Its not far fetch to say it since all of our DBs are gone except for Byron Jones and Scandrick.

Based on what he did in the Green Bay game he's the most improved DB this team has.

Good stuff by Broaddus. He is very good at these write ups and observations and not trying to be a scout.

We will have more speed and athleticism on the back end which is great. I just hope they can tackle in open space better than the folks we lost! (particularly Church and Wilcox SMH...)
