FRISCO, Texas – Twelve quick notes on the game from my vantage point at the Cowboys’ headquarters at The Star.

The detailed film breakdown comes on Monday. For now, here are some quick thoughts: Read

It was interesting to see the reaction of the Cowboys’ offensive players in the postgame, when they were talking about how they believed they would see all kinds of fronts and coverages from the 49ers. As confident a group as they are, it was like they were almost surprised to have the success that they were able to have. Give the offensive coaches a great deal of credit for putting together a game plan that didn’t allow San Francisco to dictate how this game was going to play out. Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan and his group had answers for everything the 49ers threw at them

If you were looking for the play that turned things around for the Cowboys in the first half, the sack off the twist-stunt from Tyrone Crawford was huge -- but the roughing the passer call on Jaquiski Tartt gave them new life. From my history in this league, Terry McAulay has always been the one referee who tends to take hits on the quarterback personally. It was clear that Dak Prescott’s forward progress had stopped and the whistle was sounded, but that’s a call that these officials don’t normally make. It was a tremendous break for the Cowboys, which they were able to turn into points.

I think so too.So does anyone with a lick of attention span.
I have no predictions but we'll continue to see this team play hard and win and yes along the way we'll
loss some

Green's improved play surprises me but it probably shouldn't. He didn't play last year and now the rust is coming off. Happy for Green. Happy for the team. Happy for me.
A lot of people noticed that, in the preseason, he got tired as the games went on, but always started well. It makes sense then that, the more he plays, the better and more consitent he'll be.

If green can be a solid OT, if brown can be a solid CB those two guys really make drafting pass rushers much easier next year. Think about Dak, your starting qb, a starting CB and starting OT none of which where top picks. That's what it takes to build a strong roster

When you consider the kick return Dunbar took from 10 yards deep in the endzone that lead to his injury few years ago.....or the fact that he jumped on the ball when covering punts as opposed to just downing it in Sundays game....not sure how Broaduss can call Dunbar football intelligent.

Crawford's sack saved the day.

If this team could find a way to get home they would really have a chance against the better teams.

My only complaint is this. Why are there always 2-3 plays a game where there are receivers wide open for huge plays with no dbs or lbs even in the picture?

Every teams fans would like to know the answer to that because you can see that type of thing happen in about every game. I imagine the KC Chief fans are asking that very thing this morning

T Will and Wilcox..

Probably the two most complained about guys in this team this year and both continue to make plays week after week. Gotta give it up for them.

Somebody teach TWill how to get out of bounds. He goofed up again against SF costing us a timeout. This WILL rear it's head and bite us later if he continues to play stupid.

Brown developing would be key since both Claiborne and Carr are FAs.

Carr can hit the open market for all I care.

We had all three of our timeouts left at that point and the pass was to the middle of the field. He didn't need to even try to run out of bounds in the first place. If we weren't ready to use a to there we wouldnt have thrown a pass to the dead center of the field.

Some of you will complain over anything, I swear..

We had two timeouts at the time, not three, but it was still the right decision to get yards considering the situation
