The Seahawks will return from the bye this week with a shortage of cornerbacks.
Walter Thurmond is going to start serving a four-game suspension and Brandon Browner is out with a groin injury, leaving the team thin at the position once you get past Richard Sherman. They may be trying to remedy that by bringing back a player who was briefly a member of the team in the offseason and summer.

Why would he turn down the Seahawks to come to a mediocre Cowboys team?

If he's coming back, he's going to Seattle

you never know, winifield might be upset at seattle, not saying he is, but he didn't make the team this yr. Cowboys do have to clear some room for next yr, possibly they could do that now, not exactly sure how badly clairborne reinjured his hamstring, but u could tell webb isn't ready to play cb yet. We need help at cb or teams will roast us. Not saying winifield is right answer for us and even if winifield is in good shape and can still play, but we should be looking, because to me, clairborne looked awful when he did play last night

My thoughts too. The Seahawks are poised for a Super Bowl run. The Cowboys are poised for the offseason rodeo.

Winfield actually might be a pretty good fit for Kiffin's scheme. But he's also 36 and the Seahawks didn't think much of him earlier in the season.
