josh brown talk ends here.

Hawks screwed themselves. Hutchinson is a once in a decade talent. All to save a mill in cap space or so - that's all they needed to commit to go franchise instead of transition.

serves them right

maybe we can trade them allen for a 4 or a 5 and a 7.

just thinking out loud, but it is better than just cutting him and parcells, jerry jones and mike holmgren have good relationships.

Big, big blow. It'll be interesting to see what the MVP looks like without him to run behind.

great trade suggestions. trade a guy who was cut and a guy who we will likely cut before his bonus is due.

got some real junior GM talent here. we need to find these folks front office internships.

this is going to make getting Josh Brown nearly impossible. Hopefully we will dish out the dough to Vinatieri now.

I agree. They will probably try to sign a FA OL and draft someone too.

Even though I wouldn't want to get rid of Allen just yet....that trade mentioned above is pretty interesting...hmmm...:)

well wiseguy as I said I am thinking out loud.....and as I said I am only saying it because we are going to cut him anyway, so make a call since jerry and bill have a close relationship with mike holmgren.

Under no circumstances would I expect it to happen wiseazz.

Right now, I have this image in my mind's eye of Alexander saying, "What the ____?"

since when does close relationship mean "give me a pick for my garbage?"

So what was the point with restructuring Jones? Just to prove they could do it?

Are you joking? Alexander is still counting his money with a big smile on his face. He could care less at this point in his career. Don't forget who was mad when he couldn't play more to win the rushing crown instead of worrying about not getting injured or making the playoffs.

It all depends on when the Peterson decision was made. Lots of variables there. They could have been restructuring just in case Peterson fell through.

they did it because they focused their appeal on not whether the clause had to be matched but whether the date for him to be highest paid began on the day of the offer or the day the offer was matched. they lost and the renegotiation turned out to be meaningless as the date was the day of the offer.

No, that was to make more room and to also satisfy the contract for Hutchinson in showing that he was the highest paid OL on the roster. The snag was that they would still have to match the $50mil guaranteed which is where they balked.

allen isnt garbage yet. he just struggled alot last year and is on the decline, but with walter jones next to him and a solid offensive team as seattle has he may be able to get them a year to find another guard. Trading for him they could then restructure him and lower his cap number, and then just release him next year....

However they would have to be nuts to do this, we dont have a 6th so just simply asking for a 6th for him may not be out of the question if they were afraid they could get in bidding war for him with another team after he is cut. that could end up costing them more than the measly 6th rounder..

Again, I dont expect this to happen in any way, but if you make the call they may agree to something since we are going to part ways with him before april 1st anyway.

If we trade LA we get the penalty, and Seattle could technically keep LA as long as the contract or cut him with no cap ramifications.
