1,200 yards is the new staple? And he is the focal point of the offense. His runs have MB toughness to the them but SEA would be dumb to resign him to that contract. Sherman, Wagner, Wilson, Thomas, etc. coming up too. How do you keep that team together? 75 yds a game can easily be replaced I would think?

Sherman and Thomas both signed deals this last offseason I believe. So they're locked in.

Lynch is a great player. I don't know how anyone could say or believe otherwise.

I do think he looks stupid as hell when he grabs his crotch for TD celebrations. All athletes who do this look stupid as hell.

We have guys I'm buddies with do it in our flag football league as well. They look stupid as hell.

To each their own. He can do as he pleases when he scores. I can think he looks stupid as hell when he does it.

Yay! Marshawn remembers where his junk is located. Good for him. I'm thrilled for him. lol.

And I don't know why so many here give a crap if someone on these boards cries or thinks they're meanies for not thinking Marshawn is just awesome cause he grabs his junk.

It was worse than that. Baldwin pretended to pull down his pants, squat, then "poop the football" onto the turf.

Should have been ejected. That's above and beyond taunting, and for whats its worth a lot of families watch the super bowl together.

Am I missing where they actually outline the specs of this huge deal? What did he really get in terms of years and guaranteed money?

Oh,...well then! :D Thanks for the info bro (had no clue).

SEA is close to 25m under the cap. They have to give Wilson a new deal, probably around a 10m cap hit. Maxwell-CB and Kearse-WR are also FAs, but otherwise they are in decent shape cap wise.

Lynch is due to make 7.5m next year with his roster bonus, so I don't see them improving on that too much to extend him.

I guess they do have rather limited resources directed towards to the O outside of Lynch. Harvin is gone and they don't have big money TEs/WRs absorbing much space. Wilson being on his first contract helps like you mentioned but am still pretty surprised they are in such good shape ; being competitive but not maxing out the credit card in the process.

Its not about grabbing a crotch to me though its distasteful and I can see why many feel its disrespectful. Its no different than kids walking up in a place of business with their pants literally down around their knees, white and black I might add.

No the problem I have is him shouting out to all his "real Africans". Give me a break, if a white player gave a shout out to all his Aryian brothers, you think that would be ok? Of course it wouldn't and it's a racial double standard I think most reasonable Americans are growing tired of.

Not to mention he is a complete and utter joke.

Lynch left the field before the game was even over. That doesnt look like a guy who has respect for that team. The guy took a nap at halftime of a game instead of going to the lockerroom with his team. And lets not forget he doesnt even talk to the coaches. Lol i doubt Rappaport got any source. Journalism has turned into who has the biggest lie. Just hide behind the word source and its ok to print.

You don't (well shouldn't) pay for what someone already did.

of course not...but all contracts are speculative by nature. You're betting on the future payback. Otherwise, you would only ever pay them $1 because they might get injured and have 0 yards all year.

In light of that, you would look at the trajectory of past years. Marshawn's is very flat at high production. Murray's looks like a roller coaster.

Anyone hating on Lynch really needs to watch him on Conan with Gronk. Just YouTube "Marshawn Lynch Conan" and you'll see it. The dude has a huge personality and isn't afraid to talk it up with other outlets it's just the NFL media really.

That was pretty funny.

The said in the SB pregame that Seattle has not had discussion with Lynch about a contract that they plan to do it asap after the SB.

Ok. Yeah, that $10M guaranteed money didn't sound out of line in the article, but I thought maybe I'd missed it someplace. I think it'd be a mistake for SEA to sing Lynch to a big deal, too. So, at least I'm consistent.

I think Rappaport took a little leeway in reporting that the team will offer a monster contract just based on $10M in 2015.

He's already going to make $7M between roster bonus and base salary. They could add 2 years to the contract and give him a $3M signing bonus and he'd be at $10M for 2015.

If Seattle is 25 million under the cap, they should just trash that whole offense outside the OL and Lynch, and bring in a new OC and some decent WRs that can get open. What an embarrassment to the talent on that defense, which essentially just rushes 4 and plays cover 3 or man.

Man, I'm sick and tired of hearing about how Brady shredded the legion of boom, considering the circumstances. Lane, after he broke his arm, was replaced by Simon, their 4th string. That dude had 7 of 11 passes completed on him, for 91 yards and 2 TDs. This guy alone gave up 91 yards.
