This signing sucks. Their defense will be really annoying. We need to hit a few home runs in this draft. It needs to be like a 2005 type draft.

Teams are not built in FA. This hearkens to the Eagles and other teams that have tried this tactic.

We took the eventual SB champs to the wire, in their house, and came within a couple feet of winning. Do we need to get better? Yeah. Can we compete if we don't? Yeah.

What the heck is up with the lack of big money at DE and CB this offseason, though? I've long thought we were in the $10M range for Spencer here, and that that was too much for a long term deal, but the Avril and Bennett signings are putting him more in the $7M neighborhood all of a sudden....

Maybe to up his value. Worked for his brother, worked for Laron Landry, etc. It's not unheard of. Michael Bennett is a solid player.

FWIW... We didn't want him.. Here in Tampa they couldn't wait to get rid of him.. He took plays off with regularity.. Ran his mouth on local talk shows and is nothing more than an average player at best.. He will look good surrounded by that talent in Seattle but I don't think he is what we would want in Dallas .. Is Spencer better : IMO yes... Is Spencer 5 million + more better? I dunno about that..
