Code during the Super Bowl so they were able to predict every play
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...signal-code-Super-Bowl-able-predict-play.html

The Seattle Seahawks have revealed that a good part of their defensive strategy at the Super Bowl came from the fact that they were able to decode Peyton Manning's hand signals on the field.

Controversial corner back Richard Sherman said that he and his fellow defenders cracked the code that the Denver Broncos quarterback was using, meaning that they knew exactly what to expect for each play.

'We knew what route concepts they liked on different downs, so we jumped all the routes. Then we figured out the hand signals for a few of the route audibles in the first half,' he said.

That was a very unusual game.

Seattle would win again, most likely. But that blow out was a 1 out of 20 type thing given the two teams playing.
In fact, the Seahawks played 18 other games and never beat anyone by that much...and we know Denver was much better than almost any other team they played.

I don't really buy it. The Seahawks just out muscled and out quicked Denver.

Yeah. I don't believe it either. Manning does like 500 things. I think they are saying they outsmarted the smartest QB to ever play the game.

Make sense, theses guys stay dedicated to film study. Think and call Richard what you want but he went to Standford and finish with a high gpa. Unlike some players on our team this guy love film study.

Sherman seemed to be stating the majority of the success came from extensive film prep but were also able to pick up a couple of routes early in the game (slant, hitch, etc) which also assisted. Seems easily plausable.

I just can't picture a guy like Sherman watching film seriously.

Manning, IMO, is not the smartest player to ever play the game. There are a lot of QBs who called all of their own games for a very long time and they were pretty darn good at it. Johnny U comes to mind in a discussion such as this. Among the smartest, I would agree with that but the smartest? I don't know how you could make that statement with any kind of factual evidence.

Unitas had a handful of plays to call. Run left, run right, run down the middle, chuck it deep. :D

You are joking, I know.

Seriously thou, there are so many darn good QBs we don't even consider because the Media was not around to hype them like they do today. I guess it's just one of those things in life you have to live with.

Wellllll, doggie! I am glad to here that big-mouf Sherman did do something at the Super Bowl. I mean, all that talkin' . . .
And, yeah, Manning was careful not to target that clown. That is what you get, Sherman, when you run your mouf: you get ignored.

Are you saying he is dumb? I'd wager dollars to donuts he is astronomically smarter than you are.

I think you would loose that bet, paly. I think sherman's degree was in "communications." LOL That is the equivalent of basket-weaving in college, but very popular among jocks.
