Sean Lee is still the best player on this team

Dak is the number one player on the team in terms of importance and it's not close. He can have a bad game (for his standards in his short career), and still put up good numbers against a great defense and not look like turning the ball over. If you would have given me the numbers he put up before the game, I would have taken it all day against this defense after last season. He looked rusty with some of his throws, just like a few of the better QB's did in the first game of the season. He's not alone in that.

Everyone wants to look at Daks flaws (even after tonights game). A 90.5 qbr, and it's still not good enough. Now even after last year's season when Dak put up 68 completion %, 104.9 qbr, that's not enough. Behind only Matt Ryan and the greatest QB ever Tom Brady.

No matter how well Sean Lee plays, some fans will not give him credit for his contribution to this team. I think they just don't comprehend Lee's importance. He is easily the best player we have on defense. That shutdown that the Cowboys perpetrated on the giants last night was a team effort but no other defensive player had a bigger contribution to that effort than Lee. He is a beast! A young guy like Jaylon can have no better mentor to be working with.

Lee is fun to watch, you can tell this guy lives in a film room. He never seems to get fooled on a play it is like he knows what plays the opposing team is about to run. Lee is like having a player/coach on the field.

Lee is Zach Thomas reincarnated. He has ridiculous natural instincts and he's such a smart player that he's able to recognize and anticipate a lot of plays before they happen. A true QB on the Defensive side of the ball. Helluva player.

Perfect analogy, Lee looked very sharp last night, he is without a doubt the best Veteran "bargain" contract wise on the team. He makes those around him better while still playing elite defense.

I still think Tyron is the best player, he faces murderers just about every game. Lee is fantastic though. I actually got bummed when they reminded me he is already 31 years old. Wasted so much of his prime.

Honestly though, "best player" on a team you're a fan of is a silly argument.

Lee is the smartest player on the team in terms of understanding the game now that Romo is gone. Every great defense needs 1-2 "quarterbacks" like that...usually a LB and a DB (safety like Earl Thomas). Maybe Jeff Heath can be that guy in the secondary too someday

I say our 3 stud OL, and Dak/Zeke before Lee. Lee is a great tackler, but doesn't get many sacks, even ints like he use too.

Lee is a lot more than a great tackler. He is an extremely smart player with great instincts who is the QB of the defense. The drop off when he is not on the field is undeniable.
