I know most will blame Romo for this loss because he wasn't perfect. That's fair enough. He's the franchise QB and you need him to not make that bad decision in the final 2 minutes. So I certainly understand that and I definitely agree that he made an extremely bad decision there and it sealed a loss for us.
However if anyone is even thinking of over looking how PISS poor this defense has been then you're either blind or flat out stupid. Period. I was scared what Manning would do against this defense and he did pretty much exactly what I thought he would. Over 300 yards and responsible for 5 TDs. He torched this team. At will. They had pretty much no answer for Manning.
Romo made a bad throw at the end, and he deserves his blame for that bad throw, but when your offense gives you 48 points you really should be able to win a football game. I'm sure some will say hey they got a couple takeaways for the offense. Yes. They did. THe offense turned those two takeaways into 14 points for them. They did their job. The defense did not.
What today proved was this. I'm sure the ones who hated Romo anyway will only say that Romo is to blame. That's fine they can do that. What today proved was this. Manning has a good enough team around him that if he makes a mistake, even just one, they can still win. For Romo he is basically going to have to be perfect or this team will not win. It's just that simple.
Romo can not make any mistakes, no matter when they happen, because this defense is terrible. The man throws for 500+ yards and 5 TDs he shouldn't even be in the position to have to go get some more in the final 2 minutes. But with this team that's how it is and it's always going to be. It doesn't matter how great he plays this defense is going to require Romo to be perfection and do it all.
