I was one of the panickers at first, but the more I think about it, the more I look forward to what Hurd can bring. I'm also intrigued by the athleticism of Austin and Stanback. If the O-line plays well, we won't miss Glenn as much as some believe. That being said, our offense is better with him (until the young guys get experience).

:bang2:

That's what I've been trying to tell these Zoners for the last 24 hours now-if anything, we should have released him when he was due $5m roster bonus.

The biggest issue is it doesnt seem we had/have a plan in place for this exact thing. We knew going in both our #1 and #2 WRs were on the wrong side of 30. Seems we have been that way for the longest time. We either have old guys or guys that wouldn't start on any other team. Not saying that about Crayton since he has been here. But he is still an unknown

that is the key...if your OL plays well and gives your QB time...ANYONE can and will get open...we won SBs in the 90s with Irvin and a revolving door at the other WR...but our OL was tremendous..we had Emmit...we had Novacek and we had Troy...but it all starts with the OL

The front office didn't expect Stanback to miss the whole training camp, I imagine. He and Austin can provide the speed lost when TG sits, but both need more training before they can truly compensate for his loss. In time, though, either might carry the load, and Austin may be on the cusp. Maybe this game is what he needs to demonstrate it.

:)

I think we are actually OK at receiver. I think the guysw we have can get the job done. If TO were to get injured it might be a different story though.

I am a LOT more worried about our cornerback situation right now.

that's what I'm talking about, it may be the optimism in all of us, but we want to see what we have in the young guys, what better way for them to show us something by having to step up?

Somebody mentioned that Crayton has been okay since he's been here but is an unknown. Don't no where you came up with the idea that Crayton is unknown. Admit he's not a big star and rarely attracts attention, but he is definitely known around the league. During the offseason, the Cowboys mentioned several teams had approached them about Crayton. That's because Crayton is one of the top 3-5 #3 WRs with about 50(?) catches. Also, I've been checking out one of the Giant fan forums and they discussing Glenn not playing but some of them mention Crayton is good too.
