I don't think the season's lost, but I think these division wins can come in handy later in the season. I'd be happy with just sweeping the Giants and Eagles even if we lose to the Seahawks and Bucs. I have a feeling the whole division will have a similar record and these tie-breakers will come in handy at the end of the season.

It's going to be awfully close when it's all said and done. It'd be nice to get the broom out for Giants fans again.

We must remember that the Gmen seem to always have a mid season swoon and lose games they should win

9-7 mean anything ? The season is not over by any means.....

If anyone watched that a Giants game last night they should not be afraid of them. They barely won last night.

The only thing, though, is that the Giants seem to relish in sticking in the knife when we're vulnerable. And we're really vulnerable right now.

Stupid freaking Eagles.

Seasons aren't lost being two games back in October. Come on, guys. We've all seen this way too many times before to try to make it a race to the bottom. Stay within two games, get healthy, and then let's talk about what happens after Thanksgiving. The Giants have beaten the Sk*ns and the 49ers and the Bills. They are not world beaters.

If we played in a division with the Packers, we'd be in trouble. As it is, we just need to get healthy and play better. Plus, if we beat the Giants, we're right back on top of things, potentially. Let's look at it that way while we can.

I agree
It's far from over
But the easiest road is beat the teams in your division

Yep. Gotta get healthy and get better offensively, quick.

And let's secure some of those damn turnovers, while we're at it. So frustrating to see how close we come and we just can't seal the deal. It's like a microcosm of the whole season.

But when the worm turns.....it's going to be fun. If the worm turns, that is.

If the Giants win next week and beat the Cowboys, I think its just about the nail in the coffin. If the Giants lose to the Eagles, it's not a must win, but probably puts them in as good a spot as you can hope for in these circumstances.

Its not a nail in the coffin until they have 8 losses. Its just too early to determine how this season will play out when you are only a game out of first place. Granted, it looks terrible now and if they play like they did yesterday on offense than you can put the nail in the coffin.

I disagree, but we'll see. I would prefer not to have to think about this after a 2-0 Eagles win next week and a 20 point win in week 7 vs the Giants.

Turnovers are really the important factor we just haven't got this year
We have to have them, but hopefully if we can get our pass rushers all healthy we can get that part going
The offense without Romo really needs some short fields and as many drives as we can get

I like the matchup in the trenches... with Hardy, Gregory, Crawford, and maybe DLaw we should be able to get Eli running for his life. That and Dez breathing new life into our offense should really help. Can you imagine if we are in first in 2 weeks lol?

If weeden is the starting QB for the Giants/Eagles games. We lose both of them.

I dont think we realize just how bad of a football team we are right now.....

Cassel will be our QB, Dez and Gregory will be back, and in the Pats first 7 drives last week they scored a total of 13 points (with the defense never getting any rest). That easily gives me hope that even without Romo we can win.

Even with all the injuries we have a few positives heading into the Giants game. We're coming off a bye and may be adding Gregory and Giants will be coming off MNF against a division rival. Ultimately, may come down to benching Weeden and hope Cassell can at least manage the game and make a few plays.

I dont really have much hope. Im tryin....

But we dont know what Cassel will be just yet. I think its our only shot though.......and even if Cassel is better, the W against NY or Philly, is going to be a tough one.

This season, with so much hope at the start, has gone pretty bad. The worst case scenarios have played out.

And even without the injuries, I dont get that, "we can beat anybody" feeling. Sure, we may pull out the division.... but thats where it ends.

Semi-healthy defense... 7 drives 13 points (and 14 points that the Pats did score were on cheating plays). That gives me a lot of hope, imagine where we would have been last year with a defense that could do that.

It's about as "must win" as you can get at this point in the season. It'll put us in a serious hole in the division especially if they beat the Eagles next week.

Cruz might miss the game and OBJ / Randle are having hamstring issues.

The Eagles have a pretty stout front 7 so hopefully they can beat up on the Giants a bit and leave them a little battered for our game.

Their defense is severely lacking in pass rush / pass defense so if we can pressure Eli, which we should, and get a few turnovers then it's definitely winnable.

I also think the 3 DL and McClain formation will be interesting to see if they roll it out for the Giants. The Giants are a really bad rushing team right now, avging 3.6 yards YPC. If we can get pressure while having an extra DB in the game, it could make a significant difference.

The next game after the bye is an absolute must win game, especially after losing to the hapless Saints. Seattle is going to be very difficult to beat at this point, even with them having their own woes.

If we can go 2-2 in the next 4 games, as long as we beat the Eagles and Giants, we're going to be okay.

We're a game behind New York. We play them and they also have the Patriots in the same time frame. Unfortunately for us even when we get Romo back, their schedule is much easier than ours. I'm confident that if we can go into the Miami game tied with New York, Romo won't let us down. He knows what is at stake, but behind the gun, I almost bet that the Giants go lossless down the stretch.

The Giants beating the 49ers while we lost to the Saints is a devastating loss for us. Honestly losing to Atlanta and to the Saints should have gotten some coaches fired. That 12 men on the field during a punt return certainly cost us the game.

Both Dez and Gregory need to come back for this game, and the defense needs to absolutely destroy Manning. Shut out, zero points allowed. Get turnovers for touchdown or set up field goals... doesn't matter.

Someone telt me about Beckham. Who can cover him?
If we cant man .. . he and Eli Mae could do a lot off damage.

As talent-deprived and poorly coached as they were during the Campo years, the Cowboys still averaged almost one win every three games. I'm baffled that winning just two times during this Romo-less seven-game stretch should seem so daunting, especially considering how much more talented the overall team is now.
