While Dallas won tonight and kept their season afloat, going into the bye week 4-2, I think we all should start to accept a few things.

#1) Dallas will probably still win between 10-12 games.

#2) Mike McCarthy took a group on offense that basically led the NFL in most offensive metrics the last 3 seasons, added Brandin Cooks, and managed to turn them into a bottom 10 group all in one offseason.

#3) They are probably one of the most undisciplined and poorly coached teams in the league.

#4) With a combination of downright chaotic play and poor coaching, this team will need a miracle to win anything in the playoffs.

I think all of us that thought this was a Super Bowl contender need to recalibrate our expectations for this season to basically just making the playoffs. Anything after that will require some luck.

Don’t disagree at all ..
Doesn’t mean Dallas can’t still make some noise. I just think they are not quite what we expected them to be. I hope to be proven wrong, but they seem like a slightly worse version of the 2021 & 2022 squads that couldn’t get it done.

Truth.
So disappointed in the offense
And the undisciplined penalties.

This team wins road games on turf. But they are terrible on grass...and unfortunately, they still have to play on grass at Philly, Carolina, Miami, and Washington. If they can lose to the terrible Cardinals then I wouldn't even feel totally confident in beating Carolina.

The only downside to the win tonight is the Chargers seem to find ways to lose close games. Would feel a little better about the win if it came against a legitimate Super Bowl contender. However, the positive is this is the first game we’ve won all season where we’ve had to come from behind. We hung in and didn’t fold.

It’s not that grim, the OL is playing pretty bad. You can’t win consistently if the trenches are full of mud. Yea, it is okay versus subpar teams but that unit needs to fix whate the problem is.

A win is a win in the NFL and I will never take them for granted. The Chargers are basically masters at losing the close game. Despite this, they are a good team with a very good QB and Dallas showed up to play when they could have easily folded after the SF debacle.

Can’t disagree with any of that.

The only games that matter are the Eagles twice, 49ers, Dolphins, Lions, and maybe the Bills.

The rest are just practice fodder.

Do it against teams that actually matter. All of those teams would have beaten Dallas tonight.

Those games will tell us everything we need to know, but stacking up Ws against inferior opponents is important for seeding and getting into the tournament. From there it is good on good.

Oh sure. Gotta win 90% of the rest, but you prove your mettle against the best when it matters.
