I understand the seafaring aspect of the name and sort-of aligning with the Mariners and Seahawks.

But, it's a pretty bad name. Not sure what they could have picked, but Kraken sounds a bit funny.

I was discussing this yesterday with my coworkers and we both agreed that yeah, this is pretty bad.

It really is an abysmal name. Seattle Kraken? I'm a furry, so I know my name is going to be quite predictable. However, I would've liked it if they named themselves the Seattle Seals. The double S would be nice. Seals are adorable, but fierce when they have to be. The mascot for them would've been GLORIOUS if it'd been the Seattle Seals. Mind you, this would be fitting for Seattle also considering they used to have the Sonics and they currently have the Sounders. So, the Double S would fit both of those while also adding another marine team. Kraken just sounds really daft.
